Off-topic, but how convinced of / happy with Richo are Saints fans?

I suggest you take a stroll through the saints board man. Fair to say he has his share of critics

For me he lacks game day nous and our game style was so predictable anyone could coach against us.

Darcy Moore, I know body made of tissue paper, has been "tearing up the track & had his best pre-season ever" is also taking a lot of kickouts for us in match sim.

Do you have the nutsack/lack of brain cells?

I know I have one of those two things.

I have a no lesbian policy in my team :moustache:.

Yeah, had a look just now, mixed reviews to put it mildly.
Like Richo and he seemed to be good in an assistant role, but last year was poor, the list is better than that.
Maybe it clicks with the new assistants like with Buckley, didn't see that coming either...

That's my hope. Ratten is a huge get and from all accounts he's been running the training sessions

Him, lade and billy slater all good for the club. Billy apparently has been fantastic

My gripe with Dimma used to be that there was never a plan B.
But then he got a few new heads around him, like Caracella, and they just made the plan A really good so plan B didn't matter anymore, well, most of the time lel.

Currently running with Blakley (D2), Williams (D3), Roberton (D4). Just can't decide on D1. I have Lloyd in there for now, but would it be better value going with Laird, Sicily or Whitfield instead? Lloyd spiked last year but previous two years averaged in the 80's.

Laird probably the more consistent. Sicily is a favorite but can he stay on the park? Whitfield could just continue his upward trend.

Callum Mills dominated Swans scratch match apparently..

Played in guts and rested forward.
I'd probably be all over him if Williams, Witherden and Blakely didn't exist. Hard to fit him with so many good cheap options. Mills does seem exactly like Brayshaw from last season though

I'd rank them: Lloyd, Whitfield, Laird, Sicily

Still wresting D1 as well .....IMO Laird is maxed at his price, not a lot of points average between Sicily, Whitfield and Laird ....So have Whitfield ATM because I think he can increase his average

The other consideration & why I keep looking at Scility ....is that both GWS and Crows have R14 bye

Really happy with the other 3 lines, but can't get a read on my defence. Thought I would pose the question that I am struggling with to the board.

Williams. Smith. Roberton. What are people's expectations?

Fallen premiums that are keepers? Stepping stones? or is it as simple as just being a value buy?

Having a look over their scoring history isn't amazing. Best case scenario would be low 90s. Is this Top 10? Probably not, which makes me question whether they are good picks or traps.

I am not a huge fan of stepping stones. I think rookies are going to make money faster and are cheaper options for this.

So is it a question of value? This is the only aspect which makes some sort of sense to me (as well as stretching your defense if there is a lack of D rookies at R1), but is this enough reason to choose them?

Atm it's Lloyd & JClark v Williams & Smith for me, and 9/10 I will go with the premium and rookie.

What are other people thoughts?

The DEF so far in most teams, looks the most varied ....so many options !!

IMO Smith & Roberton are traps ....Smith has only had 1 season with a 90+ average ....Roberton we're relying on his role of 2 seasons ago, but I'm not sure his role is clearcut ....and until that is clarified, it's a no for me

D1 -D3 should be keepers ......D4 can be a stepping stone

Lloyd is a very expensive D1 .....I understand Coaches picking him, as it's the same argument as me picking the over-priced Gawn & Grundy ......but IMO I can't have the top shelf player in every zone, so I've chosen the Rucks as a priority and gone more value picks in DEF

Currently have Whitfield, Blakely, and Williams ......but there's Witherden who is threatening to have a breakout year ???? .......so yes it's a headache

What's your reasoning for Williams being a keeper and both Roberton and Smith not? I actually think Roberton/Smith are perhaps the easier to justify because you know they are going to appreciate significantly in value..
