Chayce sensational
Some credit for our young players goes to our development (eg Doedee in his 3rd year here runner up in Rising Star) but it's so early for Jones. He's pure Hamish at this stage. All credit to the guy who called his number.

Also Seedsman is a gun. Quiet achiever. Just puts his head down and does the job to a high degree of proficiency. One of my faves.
Not so quiet anymore, he is now being recognise as "elite" which I thought he would reached that level when he was first recruited. It took a while due to injuries but he has finally got there.

It's a practise game.

Sure, but it's also a game against a top 8 team. I equally don't trust us to flick that switch in actual games.

Nip it now, before it becomes a potential problem would be a prudent course of action.

Can see why Jones is in the team... just understands the game, seems to have more time than everyone else when he has ball at hand (sign of a good player). His defensive pressure is very very good and probably why he's got a game over our othdr younger kids.
Very accurate well-weighted short kicks in traffic. Pace and skill.

At womad, is anyone kind enough to fill me in with key points so far

Sloane, Crouch x 2 epic

Jones can play

Tex can handball. Really well

Gibbs rusty but improving

Laird being Laird

Milera doing some nice things

Eddie kicked a feakish goal, even by his standards

For those wondering about the conditions, they're perfect. Temp in the low 20s, no wind at all, no dew or rain to make the ball slippery.

Handling errors are the fault of the players, not the ground or weather.

** Yes, I'm at the ground.

Pretty ridiculous call given how much the ball is skidding out there and the sheer number of fumbles. Clearly greasy conditions, no matter how dry it is in the grandstand with a meat pie in hand.

A prudent course of action would be to plan for Round 1.

But anyway, I digress.

seems like a missed opportunity to give Ned Flanders a game tonight.

We persist with Douglas who's a meh type of player, whereas Ned could be anything.

I agree maybe rotate him with a few other players. I’m glad that Knight is playing though.

For the knockers Jacobs 4 marks 12 disposals and 18 HO.
He had a very good first half of the season last year, but there was rumour that he was playing injured after the 1st showdown when Ryder knee him in the back and has never recovered from that all season.
Can he last all season this year, most doubt it.

Best 4 disposal half ive seen. Not even being facetious

Slightly reminiscent of Sloane's first game against Hawthorn. Lots of tackles, not many other possessions but there was just something there. We know that Chayce has better skills than Sloane had when drafted.
