Well Ben Cunnington is a lot better than Neale, so he is the real WTF.

Ben is actually knocking on the door of the top 10 if he goes on from last year, so to not make the 50...
I agree he is stiff not to be in the top 50 but Ben is knocking on the door of the top 10?

West Coast with 6 in Kennedy (7), McGovern (11), Yeo (14), Gaff (28), Darling (31) and Hurn (39).

I think that pretty accurately reflects how most West Coast fans rate those players. It's amazing how a premiership swings public opinion, even Robbo gets it.

No Shuey is stiff, Sheed a little too. And wearing my scarf, Naitanui would make a more interesting speculative pick than Daniher, if this is a predictive 50.

McGovern at 11 and Rance at 19 is fair. Rance is good, but he's not god and gets exposed at times. McGovern had the better season.

I'm comfortable with the top 10. All in all not a terrible effort from Mark, he's had much worse.

Good post and very valid points re Shuey who is incredibly stiff to miss and if Nat was guaranteed to play most of the season would also likely be in. If we're choosing a top 50 based on who we think will have a big 2019 then sheed is another you would have to put in the mix, confidence would be sky high now, hes ready to take the next step. You look at that 6 players which could easily be 8-9 and you say yeah that's why they're premiers.

Dont know why people get so uptight over these lists especially the preseason one which is a predictive one based on talent/form/injury/gut feel. The one at seasons end which is based on a seasons worth of work is the one to gnash your teeth at if he gets it wrong

In case anyone is interested in the actual list:

1. Fyfe
2. Martin
3. Dangerfield
4. Cripps
5. Franklin
6. Gawn
7. Kennedy (WCE)
8. Grundy
9. Kelly
10. Oliver
11. McGovern
12. Sidebottom
13. Riewoldt
14. Yeo
15. Whitfield
16. Bontempelli
17. Sloane
18. Grey
19. Rance
20. Coniglio
21. Beams
22. Greene
23. De Goey
24. Davis
25. Laird
26. Cotchin
27. Sicily
28. Gaff
29. Zorko
30. Brown
31. Darling
32. Hawkins
33. Higgins
34. Andrews
35. Macrae
36. Pendlebury
37. Devon Smith
38. Selwood
39. Hurn
40. Viney
41. Heppell
42. Ward
43. Brayshaw
44. Curnow
45. Parker
46. McDonald
47. Lloyd
48. Gunston
49. Lambert
50. Daniher

Zorko
Andrews
Curnow
Lambert
Daniher
Parker

All picked ahead of Shuey? He obviously totally forgot about Shuey.

Adelaide played a man behind the ball more often than any other club. Be very interesting to see how he goes in 6/6/6...

Yet you didn’t seem to have an issue with Whitfield at 15. That is really surprising because I feel like if Laird is unaccountable then Whitfield is also

I skimmed the list initially, but yes I definitely don't think Whitfield is a top 20 player in the competition. No-one will ever agree with every list but I think the HBF position in general is massively overrated.

I’d have Jetta in or around the 50 also. Best shutdown defender in the competition but doesn’t get many possessions so that’s the reason he wouldn’t get picked. Laird does get a job on a forward but doesn’t lockdown like Jetta.

I think they're both very good at what they do, but wouldn't have either of them in the top 30.

I have a feeling Isaac Heeney and Zach Merrett will have better seasons than Kane Lambert.

Heeney has been promising the world but not really delivering (at least on last season's form)

To be fair, it's not all his fault, Long mires gameplan is hardly conductive to getting the best out of The Swans and the gun players.

Actually think Lambert is slightly overrated these days, good player but not elite, far from it.

How the hell are Sicily and Laird ahead of Brown (Sideshow Bob really should be top 15, if he didn't fall away in the last month of last season, top 10.

Shit list (even by Robbo standards)

I don’t get how Fyfe can be first tbh
Not sure why? His best footy when fully fit has shown to be as good as anyones. His start to last season was insane and was the best player in the comp until he got injured, asumming he stays fit this season no reason to think he can't be the best in the comp again this year.

Nah there were better players than him last year

Yes. Revisit in 6 months.
Love coming on here and reading people overrate their teams players. Cunnington is definitely top 50, but nowhere near top 10. He has pretty much played the same footy for the last 6 years. Don't see it improving that much.
