Listened in. Wallet had two theories, that we played with a chip on our shoulder last year and we can't replicate it again. The second theory was that we have so many new players (mentions 9) that we have no team harmony at this early stage which is causing issues.
does wallet even watch football?

I don't think folks are kicking down the door to make him head coach, but he could hardly be worse considering the situation.

However, there's absolutely merit in him coming down once a week to deal with the group, and particularly the forwards.

My strong hunch is that admin are standing in the way, and Brad doesn't want a bigger persona than himself wandering around the place either.

I don't think the admin has ever needed to stand in the way as Brad Scott made it very clear from the day he started that he didn't want Wayne Carey in the football department.

Because the best way for the club to be shunted off to Tassie is for people like you to not turn up.

Because the club is bigger than the coach, or the 22 that played last week, or this year's list.

It's hard sometimes, I get it. They frustrate the crap out of us, they drive us mad, they make us want to throw things at the TV, they make us a bit embarrassed to talk about footy, but **** me if they haven't got us by the proverbials.

In this history of the North Melbourne Football Club, this is far from our worst period. The supporters in our first 50 years in the VFL went through a lot worse than we ever have, and God bless them for it. They stuck it out, they put up with supporting a side that were perennial cellar-dwellers. And they did it for us. We owe it to the next generation to stick with them through good times and bad. Not necessarily stick with this group of players or the coach, but the club.

Being a member and turning up is what gives us the right to demand improvement. To demand change. If you don't turn up, or if you only turn up when things are going well, you become the sort bandwagoner anonymous forum poster, whose opinions can be written off by the powers that be. Don't be that guy.

Shut up and buy a membership is one of the running jokes around here. But let's turn it around: buy a membership, turn up, and speak up.
The teams from those years faced enormous challenges i.e. no money, no salary cap to even things up. It isn't a just comparison.

"The result left the Kangaroos 17th on the ladder with a 0-3 record for the fourth time in coach Brad Scott’s 10-year reign.
Ominously for them, they didn’t qualify for the finals on any of those three previous occasions."

2019: 0-3 = ????, Scott
2017: 0-3 = 15th, Scott
2013: 0-3 = 10th, Scott
2011: 0-3 = 9th, Scott
2007: 0-3 = 4th + Prelim, Laidley
2001: 0-3 = 10th, Pagan

I do buy my Membership, I am actually an Archers Legend Member.

I attend every Melbourne game as well.

But guess what the club doesn’t give a * about us to be honest. This club has become less about it members and more about it social responsibility and Tassie.

They have my money, but until they start giving a * about footy and working towards a premiership, I’m not sure they deserve my time.

If we keep on turning up like mindless sheep, then expect the status quo to remain. This club needs a reminder of who pays the bills and why we donate our time and money.

I have never given a * about how poor we have been in the field, because we have always had a crack and showed spirit. At the moment this list is being held to ransom by a selfish coach that is only there to serve his own self interests and ideals. His development is a fail, his culture is a fail and his playing ideas are a fail.

Excellent comment again.

I don't quite get isolating Brown in the criticisms, as he puts up with putrid delivery and tactics a lot of the time.

I get his limitations, but that goes with his build. He's not a fast twitch type player.

He'd kick 100 in the Collingwood side.
Yeah, all this criticism of Ben Brown is a bit wide of the mark for mine and lazy punditry really. Eg. he's poor below his knees. I think he's excellent below his knees for a 200 cm player and kicks a lot of crumbing goals and snaps. Plus he's getting double and triple teamed because the opposition realise he's the the only real aerial threat. Also a victim of poor delivery as you say. I thought he played well on Sunday, never stopped trying. I'd like to see Larkey given a go for the rest of the season as our long term forward line success largely hinges on those two developing some chemistry.

No great fan of Wallet but that's too reasonable points....

I'm all for saying Brown needs to stick a tackle and add more strings to his bow as a forward and not be so predictable but why this is the focus right now is beyond me. There are far greater problems at play here.

Sure our forward line is ****ed, but who's fault is that? The coaching staff not playing a second forward like we used to with Waite!

Just lazy commentating

I remember when Fev was going through his mea culpa about his gambling and I am sure I remembered him saying he got a $10k fee per episode of the Footy Show

Now what would these commentators be getting for last nights efforts...a 45 minute recorded show, about 10 minutes max of comments talking time and the best they can do is whack BBB; and then take $$$$.00?

I bet the Skin Cancer specialist who is trying to find a melanoma on someone this afternoon must be wondering...

Yes I would put in Larkey to help him. Brown started the game very well, funny thing is he doesnt seem to the the dead eye he once was and I havent marked it down as a goal 35metres out like I used to. His first point was excellent he did about three different leads and then was hit up on the run. Great, this is what he has to do, and this is the delivery that is required...

We went 0 and 4 in 2011.
We might well be 0 and 6, as we will be underdogs against all of the Crows, Bombers, and Power. This Saturday is probable our most likely win of those three, but I wouldn't be surprised if the game against the Blues in round 7 is the battle of the winless.

Ben Brown has been poor since mid last year and that's over and above gameplan or team delivery.

Some of Carey's critique is accurate.

However - he is not who I'd be singling out. Plenty of candidates for scrutiny ahead of a bloke grinding out 17km a game as a KPF.
