Is it me? Tackle numbers have fallen off the proverbial cliff. Or that’s how it appears to me. 60 to 42 today and we won. An average of 10 per quarter would have been a reason for losing a game of footy but not this season.

I know it’s hard to keep the faith when all you see is losses but you just have to look deeper, the foundations are there even the first few courses on top of that, it’s just sticking them all together in a way that will withstand the elements for an extremely long amount of time (forever) so that we don’t get there once and then collapse in a heap.Haha, I’m in that group. I was so pissed off last week, the thought of watching another footy game made me numb after the GC game and I did wonder if we would ever win again. So bloody happy right now.
One of the best I’ve seen, but didn’t achieve the ultimate with us. Unfortunately that sits him a tier below the others in my opinion.
Getting too much of the ball clearly

He may get there, he isn’t there yet.
Good. The doggie supporters have gone into meltdown mode on their page!
I said the same thing a few weeks ago and said it again today..... Paddy Cripps is the best player to EVER wear the navy blue
You do realise that they are the same company in different clothing, streaming the same product (sport wise)?
But one of them is cheaper. A lot cheaper.

Exactly. When was the last time we never looked like losing? And has anybody mentioned that we did this at Docklands? We won a game at Docklands by 44 points. When was the last time we won a game of footy by 44 points? Like never.
Yeah this is the one thing I have been unhappy with until now, the lack of rotations of others through the middle to take the load off the youngens, think we could have won another couple of games if we did this earlier, glad to see some flexibility in this regard as it really kept us fresh and on top for longer. Let’s hope it wasn’t just because the dogs have a high number of rotations that go through there midfield as I would hate to see us revert to the more rigid set up.Agree. I thought Gibbons & Jack having time in the middle made SPS Dow Walsh Fisher more effective. That size and smarts helps
Totally agree Daisy and Simmo's attack on the ball for 32 and 35 year olds is outstanding. They been enormous in the backline standing up in the absence of Doc and Willo.
Wrong wrong wrongYeah it's in the past....last week even.
One tall too many last week and we looked much better for it today.
Charlie needed a day watching his teammates do it....thats the internal pressure we have missed for so many years
Amazing isn't it, play a midfielder in the midfield and he turns out his best game to date! Long may it continue.I forgot Gibbo as well. It appears that you do have some AFL qualities.
Your last statement is not true im afraid, i pay $33 per month for my Foxtel subscription, as far as im aware Kayo is $25 a month then goes to $28.
For the extra $5-$8 per month we get quite a few channels and options.
Also think a fit McGovern Cuningham and Pickett all have their own traits of Xfactor that will compliment the players you have mentioned above RP, as we are starting to bare the fruits of most of the third and fourth year players all starting to have the required fitness base and games experience that no doubt looks like they are feeling more comfortable in there abilities. Walshy just looks like a generational player its really mind blowing what he's doing as an 18yr old all his numbers are through the roof, only a matter of when those B&F's Brownlows Norms are wonYep. He had looked off in the first few rounds but was absolutely outstanding today. Such a livewire!
One thing that gives me great optimism is that our rebuild seems to have captured a number of genuine X-factor difference makers (obviously assuming they all make it) - Dow, Fisher, SPS, McKay, C Curnow, Willo, etc. even when you go further down to the “hopeful” basket, players like LOB have very high upside if they make it. Absolutely key to winning a flag. Not much vanilla there!
Of course, that is aside from Mr Vanilla himself Sam Walsh. Hopefully the Carlton fans who begged for Izak Rankine and Bailey Smith are OK right now - and yes I get it, nobody still thinks that was the right call and it was only a vocal minority in the first place anyway - but I can’t help it and it still fills my heart with glee to reflect on those days. I promise it will hurt less when Walsh retires as a premiership captain with numerous Brownlows and Norms under his belt...![]()

He good, real good.
But I’ve seen, Jezza, Doull, SOS, Sticks, Dominator, Diesel wear the jumper.
He’s not in front of them and others just yet.
So happy with the game today, there were positives everywhere.
Team selection was a lot more balanced this week and we looked to have such better cohesion going forward. Everyone who watched the game saw how great Samo, Cripps, and Mckay played but i was most pleased with Gibbons and SOS.
To recruit a guy who's too good for the VFL as a midfielder and play him deep in the forward line didn't work and i was rapt not only in Gibbons himself but for the coaching staff to actually play him further up the ground, he showed a lot of promise, kicked his first goal and showed he does have AFL qualities. If he keeps improving, even marginally, he will be a solid contributor.
SOS was fantastic, constantly provided a target, went in hard and played with great intensity, he really needs to keep working on his set shot kicking and his speed in ball movement but this was his first game back and he looked like he belonged.
Well done to Cas, he has many limitations but he worked really hard today, he crashes the packs, provides a target and kicked some good goals today. He might not be part of the future but he is a Carlton man and will step up the best he can.
A few posters discussing Kayo and Foxtel, a fyi, i called up to cancel my Foxtel, i ended up staying after being offered $33 per month basic + sports, so give them a call and pretend to quit if you're paying more.
