Should the victims of the Sri Lanka terrorist attack also be remembered during the ANZAC day minutes silence.

Just wondering if the Richmond and the Melbourne Football Clubs could ask the crowd before it stands in a minute silence for ANZAC day, if they could also remember the so far 310 people killed and 500 wounded by Muslim terrorists in Sri Lanka. Among the victims were 2 Australians plus an additional 2 British Citizens living in Australia. Not saying that the ceremony should be hijacked, but bearing in mind there were Australian casualties and that there are many Sri Lankans in Australia with half of them living in Melbourne it would be a wonderful show of support and would mean a lot to that community and the families here in grieving. Have contacted both the AFL and the Richmond Football Club. Really hope they do something.

Yes but that's the achilles heel of your argument. We did it for Christchurch but we won't do it for Sri Lanka when unlike Christchurch Australians and Australian residents actually died there. Plus the scale of this utterly dwarfs Christchurch. Moreover, the Sri Lankan government has linked the bombing of these Christian churches as retaliation to the Christchurch attack. Acknowledging Sri Lanka has at least as many good arguments as acknowledging Christchurch, especially if one attack proves to be linked to the other.

Terrorism shouldn’t have to be linked to Muslim or Islam. Terrorism is an awful thing so I would hope that they have a minute silence for all terrorist attacks but it means you would have one for every game.

I say no - it's only the timing this week that makes it seem appropriate.
Anzac Day is specific to Australians honouring and remembering our history - a very special day that should not be getting mixed up with current global tensions and tragedies.

If the AFL wants to have an 'inclusion' round (do they already?) at some stage and have pre-game acknowledgement and silent minutes of support against all global hate and terrorism then that is another thing.
