I really hope Melbourne enjoyed their week (fortnight maybe?) of Hogan schadenfreude early in the season, because that trade is looking like terrible list management.

It's just so Melbourne to go overboard on one half decent season. One good season out of Mcdonald, a defender, who had the luxury of playing alongside Hogan for 20 games and had no work put into him. And Weideman a kid who had one good finals series and is now demanding 700k.

Melbourne is less a football club and more a social club for old boys to compare their portfolios.

Lost about 10 kg probably in the pre -season evidently threw up 15 times at pre season training ...the fact he never got drafted was a huge wake up call .
Liam Baker was a pretty handy pick as a rookie also .

I had a glance at Richmond's draw and they get a double up against Carlton! How on earth does the minor premier get a double up against the wooden spoon winner? I thought the way they group the ladder for double ups meant that couldn't happen.

Clearly the AFL trying to shoehorn them into a finals spot for commercial reasons. I suspect they'll finish top 4 only to disappoint again.

Richmond can take all of those kinda average small forwards like Baker, Castagna, etc, cheaply in the draft because they fit with their chaos ball game plan.
