Blakey absolutely needs to be a midfielder. Every time he plays there he looks far better. Even since U18.

Need rebounding HB just as much as mids

Would a rebounding defender even make a difference in our team? We have Sir Dane, Lloyd, Aliir, Cunningham.. all quicker than the average player. Yet they all go sideways. Without going too much into Horse-bashing territory, if we’re structured to just go sideways and long down the line instead of using pace to run and carry. It’s a logic that would leave even Andrew McLeod struggling to do much damage. Kind of the same way how we have a plethora of forwards yet still manage to have a vacant forward 50 all the time. If your structure is ****** then it doesn’t matter who you’ve got playing what role, not a lot will change.

I was arguing Blakey should get 37 for ages. Most disagreed. I still think he should have it.
