Coupla tidbits I've heard from a contact:

We are keen on Papley and he is keen on us, deal likely gets done

Roos has said he will come to Carlton if Michael Voss is made coach, hence the interest all of a sudden. He's less warm on Teague

Club doesn't think we're a chance at Coniglio and quite frankly isn't interested at the $$ being discussed

Sounds like this will be SOS's last trade/draft period. David Walls mooted as a possible replacement

But Judd is getting wooed by Roos.

Judd is bad news

This all makes a lot of sense. Especially Juddy being a private school boofhead failing vertically beyond the footy field. If SOS does leave we should pray that it's to take time off or pursue some other interest, because as we've seen he loves use his connections to raid his former club. And how would that even work, actively working against the team success of his two boys?

Would be a perfect addition in the back half, and Walsh projects to be an inside/outside mid in the Coniglio mould anyway. Doesn’t have the polish, but has the work rate and leadership qualities, and will gradually develop his inside game (which is also fantastic given his size) as Coniglio has.

FFS kids 18 years old … EIGHTEEN. He could be anything ... if his start to an AFL career is anything to go by I know where I would be backing my money on.

The training wheels comment was seriously poor form - insulting to Teague and a potential disincentive for players to invest in Teague - absolute RUBBISH from Judd - dumb. How do you become a 'Director of Coaching' when you haven't ever coached? Absolute nonsense.

The more I watch Lyon in press conferences the more I don’t want him anywhere near our club.Reminds me of a grumpy Malthouse.I want our club to have a positive disposition with someone at the helm that talks calmly and dosent talk in riddles.Whether it’s Teague or Ratts I’ll be happy with that.

Just comes across as a complete prick, and not in a "he'll motivate the players" kind of way. Treats everyone with disdain, I would be devastated if we hired him.

I don't know enough about what Judd does. But I always felt the wearing of two hats is going to compromise him eventually.
It has done.
I think it was a misguided comment he made and the better journos caught him out, but really it's time for all to move on from that.
One gaffe doesn't undo a career in the game and the knowledge acquired.

His "training wheels" comment has been blown well out of proportion. In no way, shape or form does it undermine Teague nor does it rule him out of getting the gig on a full time basis.

Agree, however ... don't throw the baby out with the bath water. When you are learning the public grooming machinations of a job … you are going to **** up occasionally. Not like when Juddy goes live he is reading from a teleprompter. There will be gaffs.

Love how this bloke normally puts the "media" in check ….. done it before magnificently. Sure the "training-gate scandal" was an error of judgement, however he has done more good than bad at this stage.

I challenge you to go onto "live" TV and face 3 antagonistic media hounds and come out unscathed.

Do you remember he is a midfielder? Not a University graduated, bought up media bloodhound?

Feels like only a few weeks ago he was being praised for representing the club in the media and not taking any crap, and now he’s a failure with malicious intentions. The mind boggles.

I’m not sure I want him coaching us, but I sure as hell want him to continue coaching someone so I get to see him say ‘Ross things’...

The way I look at it ,if we hire a Carlton person as coach we know we'll get 120% commitment ,both Teague or Ratts I will be comfortable with ..
