I’d argue we need an outside mid with good kicking skills just as much as an inside mid. When Bellchambers has played we’ve actually been fine in clearances. Still would like another inside mid too tho... and another ruck.

I'll put it to you this way, too: Adam Saad s**ts all over Martin. When Saad started playing for the Suns, he very, very quickly got a cult following for his lightning pace out of defence and his (often) underrated pressure acts. Martin's career to date at the Suns has been hope that he'll live up his potential, and that's it. He hasn't delivered yet. He's had bursts, small purple patches during a season at most, but hasn't got a whole season of great form to his name.

Martin has shown he can play the game at a very high level, all he needs is consistency. A winning culture will work wonders for this lad!

Why? GC got Brisbane pick which is around Eagles pick, and Ah Chee trade around the same second Rd pick as pick 22.

Another option is simply sending their Pick 8 to Gold Coast, along with a future pick, with Brisbane's 1st coming back. This removes the need to involve another club, and leaves Carlton with change to sort out other trades.

Although involving the Eagles does sound advantageous to everyone. Pick 8 and a future 3rd in return for 14 and 22 is heavily in Carlton's favour, but could go a long way towards satisfying Geelong given it allows West Coast to hand over a top 10 pick
