rumours we have signed Marc Pitonnet ..i guess he's a project ruckman ??

Don't know much about him , but would rather trade for a ruckman that is 22 and ready (I think) than waste the pick on an 18yr ruckman who isn't ready - hawks supporters reckon he could play AFL if wasn't 3rd in line and we need backup for Kruezer

Thats the tricky thing, only 1 ruckman fits into our team and Kreuzer is it, but we need someone who can come in when he gets injured and not have us drop off the face of the earth. Pittonet seems capable enough and will be in his prime when Kreuzer hangs them up so can battle it out with TDK for the number 1 spot.

Soooo...... are you guys tired of that Cripps fella yet? Happy to cooperate to get a trade done. Can pick any cats player and we will throw in GMHBA stadium as a sweetner.

Run along now! :p

So now that we have incredibly definitive statements from both Port Adelaide and Wines' management that he will not be getting traded to Carlton and has never requested a trade to Carlton or anywhere else and that he will be playing at Port next year, can we please stop this nonsense that we will pick Wines up for a packet of Crisps at the last minute?

I can't tell if this is serious or not

Why wouldn't it be serious?

Both the club and management have denied they have ever entertained a trade to Carlton and both say, with just 2 days to go until the trade period ends, the Blues still neck deep in other trades and likely to have just a future first round pick to work with, that Wines is going to continue to Co-Captain Port in 2020.

So unless Port and Wines management are completely out of the loop, prepared to look f00lish by completely reversing their strident position within 24 hours or the rumour is not true.

I am confident it's the latter.

Unpopular but not sure if we need Wines, at least not at the likely cost.

If we get Papley Martin Pittonet and Betts it's an A+ trade period for mine.

We werent really a poor clearance team last year, its just the overall output which I believe we will see grow naturally and rapidly. SPS Dow LOB Setters Fisher will all be better.

Cripps/Ed/JSOS/Kennedy we have enough big bodies. Just need our talent to mature.

Provided we keep next year‘s first if at all possible, I agree. The midfield help may already be on the list. If not we go big time shopping again next year.

But happy to go at Wines if Papley falls through. Tough to find a more perfect fit for us than Papley, though, so I really hope it happens.

I think C.Curnow has really dogey knees. His legs look frail just like the legs of a soccer player called Danny Welbeck. Welbeck used to play for arsenal and he has had leg injuries his whole career.

We could trade C.Curnow now before he is found out to be injury prone. We still have two talls in McGovern and McKay to cover and Casboult as back up.

Trades 2019
- C.Curnow, Pick 43 and Future 2nd Round Pick (2010) to Gold Cast for Picks 1, 2 and J.Martin
- Pick 9 to Sydney for Papley
- Pick 85 to Adelaide for Betts

Use Pick 1 for Rowell and Pick 2 for Anderson. With those two in's, our midfield will be insane for the next 10 years.

Team next season:

B: Plowman--------------------Jones-------------------Newman

H: Docherty------------------Weitering----------------Marchbank

C: SPS-------------------------Cripps--------------------O'Brien

H: Cuningham---------------McGovern----------------J.Martin

F: Betts-----------------------McKay--------------------Papley

Foll: Kreuzer, Setterfield, Walsh

Bench: E.Curnow, Rowell, Anderson, Murphy

Emerg: De Koning, Williamson, Goddard, Dow, Kennedy, De Luca, Stocker, Fisher, Gibbons, J. Silvagni, Casboult

I wonder if there’ll be any DFA’s out there that we’re going to be willing to take on board?
39/5; If Phillips goes, he’ll effectively be replaced by Pittonet then we’re going to the draft with 3 late picks or increased rookies
Schumacher = Betts
Garlett = Martin
Lobbe = Papley
Fasolo = ND#1
Pickett = Deluca (?, rookie)
Kerr = ND#2
Thomas = ND#3
Lebois = rookie

On what medical expertise do you base this on?

I try to avoid watching Hawks games as much as humanly possible....but I remember seeing him in a match, I can't recall exactly which it was, but may have been the practice match we played against them the start of this year at PP.

To be honest, I was surprisingly impressed.....knew nothing about him before the game except he was just some back up ruckman, but remember thinking during the course of the game "this guy can football pretty good"....

That's about all I know...

The replay of Hawks vs Port in rd 10 and Lions in rd 11 were his best games stats wise for anyone interested.
