We are in a crappy position with Martin now though. If we get him in the PSD he will be paid overs which apparently we won’t do anymore.
We didn’t read the environment very well to miss out on Butler.

The AFL won't let the Gold Coast take Martin in the PSD. The can of worms it opens will be too much. I can see this being like the Luke Ball situation. Pies got him in the draft for Pick 30. Every team left him alone because they understood where he wanted to play and that the Saints wouldn't deal with the Pies.

I thought we should have switched focus to getting Wines instead of Papley. Papley was always dead in the water if Essendon wouldn't trade Daniher. Everyone knew this.

There we have it, Essendon screwed up our chances to get Papley. Swans have every right to keep him but you would think that he will be fairly pissed with them. Can see him being very gettable next season.

Martin will get to Carlton via the draft which would be awesome and that makes this a win. Martin for nothing i think would be a big one.

Not the result we wanted but it was in the hands of other clubs which means it's never a certainty.

If we don't get Martin in the draft then this is a big failure, not necessarily our fault but a failure all the same.

Hugely disappointing trade period. All hinges on whether we get Martin in the PSD or not.

Get the feeling that we might have been let down by other clubs backflipping.

Just look at the list he has built over the last 4 years...it has more talent then at any point in the last 2 decades so just ****ing relax there is still plenty of time to improve this team to win a flag

What a shit show for the AFL, AFLPA and GC. I’m so pi**ed. Keath just went for a future 3rd. Jenkins for a future 5th. Bonar for a future 3rd. Ah Chee for a future 2nd and 4th. We offered over for both our options and they turned it down despite asking to be at Carlton. Either the AFL have told GC to do this and shaft us (wouldn’t ******* surprise me) or they’re all ******* idiots. Did I mention how pi**ed I am.

GC offered to take our 9 and give us Martin and 15 and we knocked it back.
