We overpay for 1 year it's like front loading the contract, we renegotiate the next 3 for lesser money.

So in essence we'll be paying a mill next year for a player that was playing NEAFL footy this year .
Martin is not a player we should be doing this with imo .

I wouldn't bank on that happening.

However, I'm really excited about using #9 at the draft.

The other positive thing is that in retaining a future second, we may be able to trade back into the draft in the 20's for a player we rate highly that has drifted on draft night.

Overall, we're still in a really good position.

If Martin really wants to get to Carlton, he can make it happen.
It's pretty simple to make your position at a club untenable, if you want to scorch the earth.

Then name his PSD price as 1 year, $1M.
