Not expecting any changes for this one, however I am expecting a victory.

Who is going down for this one, I'm still tossing up whether to go or not, not a fan of access to Metricon, car > train > bus > are we there yet?

I guess I'm spoilt with only having to walk from home for Gabba games.

I drive up from the coast every home game, so these away games at Metricon are very convenient for me.

Hope I'll be able to grab a ticket. Has anyone heard news on access for members yet?

The away games in Sydney were sent out to all local members to buy tickets through the appropriate ticketing site, I'm guessing this will be similar.

Funnily enough I was driving between Texas and Dalby while the game was played so I haven't even seen it.

I really hope we have a thumping win over the Melbourne Football Club. Not a fan of their fans and given we haven't had a big win in a while, hope we do so this week.

I think we should be looking to make it at least 4 changes. ;)

No I don't, but wouldn't be surprised if we make the odd one or two just from a management perspective i.e. McCluggage (rested), Ah Chee (omitted) for Answerth / Witherden and Mathieson / Cox (in).

Think our defence needs to be altered slightly. I feel like our defence is really leaky when it enters in our d50. Not sure how to fix it.
do not think the defence is really leaky.
We playing more offensive.. So get killed now by turn over. More risk you take the more you turn it over.
Teams trying not to kick it near go go gadget Andrews as well. You noticed GWS changed how they went into forward 50
as they started just playing kick it to Harris for the first half.

Teams will pick us apart..
I think CEY is missed we need another hard one in mids. have Berry Snr and Mitch.
Berry jnr, Bailey, Linc and Rayner getting more runs in the centre which is great.

I have concerns about Gawn dominating us this week.
Hope he cops a corky or minor injury this week and misses just the one week.
Would never wish for a bad injury for any player.

Fagan will go with Stef & Oscar again because we won and he is reluctant to change a winning team.
Stef appeared to move more freely against GWS but is way down this year on his usual contribution.

We lost the centre clearance 16 to 8

Stef only had 4 disposals of which one was a free kick but did kick the goal from that free from memory
He had 21 hit outs against Mumford who is way past his best & Finlayson to a lesser extent.
Only 5 hit outs were to advantage.
Had zero marks and zero tackles
Time on ground 62 %

Oscar has similar figures v GWS was up against Finlayson and Mumford
5 disposals, 1 mark, zero tackles
12 hit outs
4 hit outs were to advantage
Time on ground 78%.

We lost two game this year.
One against Hawks where Ceglar dominated our 2 rucks.
The other was Geelong with Fort & Ratugolea both relatively inexperienced rucks
We won hit outs by +14
Lost centre clearance -2
Lost stoppage clearances -5
We came out maybe just in front for the day v inexperienced ruck combo

I think it's an issue.

I also think our guys can improve . Our rucks hit it to the opposition often enough when they did get their hands on it first yesterday. Likewise our mids haven't been quite as sharp around the clearances last 2 weeks. These things can go up and down . We'll work on it during the week

Yep, one of our only areas of concern for me is the centre bounce clearance, good teams tend to get on a roll against us and kick multiple quick goals. IIRC Sam Powell-Pepper also destroyed us in that area in a game last year. It is an even more important part of the game with the 6 6 6 set up at centre bounces. I am sure Fagan and co are working on it, I actually like Rayner in the centre square, my ideal would be Big O, Rayner, Neale and Zorko, don't mind CEY in there as a big body as well on rotation.

Our centre clearances have been far from an issue for a while now. No need to extrapolate a couple of bad matches. Might just need a lift from Neale

I wonder if Ah Chee gets dropped. He's the only potential casualty I see, although most likely there will be no changes.

Would be willing to bet there's no changes.

When Lachie Neale gets taken out of the game by a good tagger like yesterday we struggle to pick up the slack at centre bounces without him.
We probably need to send Neale forward for a while rather than persisting with him in the centre.
We can then bring someone else in who may be able to run a little more freely.

I wasn't concerned because while they won more centre clearances than us, we neutralized most and in turn win more clearances around the ground. We also beat them on the outside.

Yep we were good when we were able to get more bodies around the ball.
Can’t do that at Centre clearances though. Other than trying to force another Stoppage.

Which we did many times - I think we knew Neale being tagged out would make it hard to dominate centre clearances (against a grand final calibre midfield) - so we seemed to aim to neutralise their advantage and gain our own advantage at the post centre-stoppages.

Might be a bit overconfident but I don't think the demons will trouble us next week. If we bring our pressure I think we'll control them pretty comfortably.

Melbourne are going okay.
They have only played 6 games won 3 lost 3
Beat Carlton,Suns and now Hawks
Lost by 27 points to Eagles in round 1 and again by 27 points against Richmond
Also ran the Cats to a close 3 points loss.
Still have a postponed match v Essendon to play.
No easy games in AFL at the moment
Hopefully i will be able get a ticket as it should be a good game.

Definitely have the midfield to worry us with Petracca up and going.
Without that class he now brings they are just a crash and bang outfit.
Big game for our rucks obviously as well.
Keep Gawn and Petracca quiet will go a long way to winning this one.
