Coughing up pick 12 for Matthew Bode goes close. Pick 12 will play his 400th game next year.

Its an interesting journey that Bode trade.

Burgoyne is sitting on 385 games, the trade of Burgoyne netted us Nash (8games), Moore (60games) and Pittard (159games).

The Pittard trade (which included Polec) netted us pick 11 (ended up being Hately 12 games) on traded for pick 6 (ended up being King 25 games), on traded for pick 5 (Rozee 32 games)

The total games currency of those players is 681 games, take away 37 games of King and hately, 644 games from the trade of little ol' Matthew Bode.


EDIT- Adelaide gave up Rehn to get pick 12, who went on to play a further 33 games for the hawks 677 games linked to Mr Bode lol

Sa doesn’t need any leg ups as other non-Vic sides as they are a die hard established football State

we don’t need to reward a die hard football state with the one chance in a 1000 years to host the grand final

it has to go to Sa or wa based on the fact both states have contributed to the AFL for decades. Giving it to qld or Sydney who have been financial drains on the afl more often than not because they’ve hosted games for all of ten minutes would be pretty shit, unless you can clearly show the positive impact it would have on the competition for all clubs and I’m not sure you can do that with conviction when those states are full of known theatre goers.

the afl grand final is often played in front of a crowd stacked with rich northerners there for the spectacle anyway thanks to their business connections. They’ll still see it if it’s in Sa or Wa if they want to spend that long in first class.
