1972 Carnival team?? 1973 was last year SANFL played state games at AO and Blight went to NM in 1974.

Is the bloke with the huge head to the right of Robran, Dean Ottens or Dean Farnham? I always get those 2 mixed up as they were both big bastards from that era.

That team was only able to beat Tasmania at the 1972 Carnival. This proposed State of Origin team by Mack Binkley in today's Fertilizer would struggle to do any better...

(Bick's must know something about the Tingles recruitment plans re Shane Edwards - oh, and we're getting Rankine!)

Does Bickley know something we don't?

Beat me to it 😉

Brisbane offering half time entertainment.
Perth offering something to blow your mind ( apparently)
Adelaide offering...safety

This will be interesting

It appears that the meth cooks are on standby in Perth then.
Or a duck from the guillotine contest by the West Corp midfield.

The only thing funnier than the Crows board thread campaigning for SA not to get the grand final is the old bitty I saw in Burnside yesterday with a farewell Football Park t-shirt on.

On SM-G960F using BigFooty.com mobile app

Lol - made me think of this

I think you mean biddy !

Pretty sure that is Ottens who was 6'6" - Farnham was 6'9"

The question has to be asked why hasn't SA produced any decent KPF's in the last 20 years or so?? Still producing decent rucks and a few decent KPD's but no decent KPF's.

Guys like Westhoff and Lukosius aren't true KPF's, just talls.

Not enough good food, or is it all relative? Are other states with bigger populations and bigger pools of players, just have more big blokes as a % of elite footballers than SA??

In the 1990's Nick Holland, Warren Tredrea and Matthew Pavlich were drafted from SA.

Who has been drafted from SA since the 2000 draft who has played 150+ games as a KPF?

O'Brien from Hawthorn has played 70 games, not sure if hes classed as 3rd tall or kpf though.

Could potentially make it to 150 in 4 or 5 years.

Agree that its amazing lack of quality forwards, although as a sidenote its interesting that a lot of the best full forwards in SANFL in 80s werent born in SA/started their career elsewhere (Mandemaker (although still represented SA in State of Origin!) Evans, Dietrich, Jakovich..

I am disappoint that Harry "The Next Mark Bickley" Schoenberg isn't in that team
