Quite embarrassing for Coniglio to be dropped as captain, especially for a must-win game against Melbourne which will impact their finals chances. Is his poor form a cause or symptom of GWS' lacklustre team performances? Did he lose motivation after signing such a rich long-term contract?

I understand the concept of it, just not sure it’s the right time with the game being a must win for the club. He hasn’t been great but he’s still in the best 22 players even out of form.

Yeah it is a tough one, this is the sort of game you need not only the star players but the leaders to deliver.

I think it is an awful look that they don't believe he can't get it done when they need him to but it is not without reason.

As someone who drafted him in fantasy last year and this year I can vouch for how far he’s dropped off as I watch him very closely. He looks slow and he’s never had a great kick but it’s been really ordinary this year. Could be lingering from his knee last year
