4 SWANS [have another good year left in them]
5 DEMONS [need to stay injury free]
6 DOCKERS [still gonna be good but the streak last year helped big time]
7 POWER [top 8 darkys]
8 TIGERS [it's their goal isn't it]

14. Hawthorn
15. Brisbane
16. Carlton

1 - WCE (have the best midfield and will dominate in WA again)
2 - Melbourne (biased, but a good group of youngsters to complement the veterans. Need to fill the hole at CHF)
3 - Adelaide (Will be thereabouts again. Good coach, hard-bodied, hard-running)
4 - Fremantle (Will become more consistent)
5 - Sydney (Will drop off slightly after a few key injuries)
6 - Bulldogs (may finish higher, but another chance for finals experience)
7 - St.Kilda (Hamill gone, Gehrig, Harvey on the verge of retirement, will need to settle in with new coach)
8 - Richmond (Should play finals this year. Wallace is a good coach)

9 - Geelong (Will just miss out again. Need a new coach)
10 - Collingwood (Will look towards rebuilding. Need to plan for post-Buckley/Rocca)
11 - Port Power (have some good players still but some unproven youngsters)
12 - Hawthorn (one more year then they will push for finals)
13 - Essendon (May push for finals with Lloyd and Michael in, but I doubt it)
14 - Carlton (need another year of draft picks)
15 - Brisbane (will struggle to fill the gaps of retired stars)
16 - Kangaroos (need to play the kids and give them plenty of experience)

These are pointless because everyone gets it wrong and it just causes pointless arguments......... but I'll give it a shot :p

West Coast (Only going to get better)
St Kilda (every year I tip them for top 2........ every year I'm wrong, maybe this is the year?)
Geelong (Great off season and great additions on and off the field)
Fremantle (Look very slick, should go back to the prelims, perhaps a couple of steps further this year.)
Western Bulldogs (Quick, one of the X factors this year, definate top 8 if no abundence of injuries again)
Adelaide (Still thereabouts)
Demons (Very good side, probably higher but don't know if they have what it takes for top 2)
Richmond (Top 8 time finally for the Tiges)

Sydney (Bound to hit a rough spot with injuries??)
Kangaroos (Look quite decent, will be around the mark if they have little injury)
Collingwood (Development process, moving players on and developing youngsters... no 8 this year)
Hawthorn (One more year then top 8 2008)
Essendon (Improve for sure but not quite top 8)
Carlton (When you have a guy without a game in the leadership squad, you know thye have a lot of work to do....... but don't despair, one day :D)
Port (One of the better midfields, but I don't like them ;))
Brisbane (Mmmmm, yet another developer and could be a dark horse...... or wooden spooner, plenty o gaps to be filled)

Geez, it's tough this year, will take more than 2 NAB cup games to get a decent gauge

I would hate to be the person who wades through this rubbish to see who was right

I'm sure the people who were right will bump their post.

The Revival Of The Vics

1. West Coast - Virtually unbeatable at home and still improving their side. Their weakest link has been their forward line but now that even seems to be gelling together. *Something I'd Try If I Was John Worsfold*: Play a 4 key man forward line. Lynch at fullforward, Staker on a flank and Hansen and M.Brown taking up the centre half forward position. Takes pressure off Hansen and gives Brown valuable game time. When a tall forward needs a break bring in Seaby or Cox. Small forward will be Armstrong or Rosa and the other flank is to be occupied by a resting midfielder.

2. St Kilda - Need to make the most of their nine Melbourne games in the last ten rounds. A Grand Final berth must be soon especially with a spine of Hudghton-Koschitzke-Hayes-Riewoldt-Gehrig which is one of the best in the league. Won't be to surprised to see them start slowly but once underway they could very well be the team to beat. *Something I'd Try If I Was Ross Lyon*: The Baker-McQualter tagging combo. Baker to take a dangerous forward and McQualter to play as a defensive run with player in the midfield. Can swap roles if wished.

3. Western Bulldogs - One of the most unique teams in the league. Their entire team has to contain pace and it seemed to work well last year. The return of Darcy will add plently of strength to the small forward line. His presence also releases Johnson, who played full forward last year, into the midfield. One of the most exciting midfields in the league containing West, Cross, Johnson, Cooney, Akermanis, Gilbee, Giansiracusa, Griffen and Boyd. *Something I'd Try If I Was Rodney Eade*: With Brain Harris' suspension for the first three rounds I'd try a Grant-Hargrave key defence combo with McDougall and Darcy up forward. Isn't the best spine in the comp but with a quick attacking midfield it should work out fine.

4. Sydney - Sydney will have one or two more years near the top but their Grand Final days are over. The Swans will fall very hard when they do. That's the punishment they will have to accept for keeping a very similar side for so long. Young players havn't quite had the same chance as other clubs would give them. Get some of them playing and see what they are like. Must stop trading high draft picks away for older players. *Something I'd Try If I Was Paul Roos*: Get some of these young kids playing. There is some talent on the list but I question the game time they are receiving. Matthew Laidlaw is as athletic as they come and now that he has really bulked give him a shot on the back flank or wing. And get Daniel O'Keefe some game time as soon as possible.

5. Melbourne - The Demons have an exciting even list. It's time for the young midfielders to take that next step and for the experienced players to give their all to keep in the side. Possibly one of the better midfield rotations in the league with Bruce, Johnston, McLean, McDonald, Sylvia, Moloney, Jones and Bartram. *Something I'd Try If I Was Neale Daniher*: Bryon Pickett off the halfback flank. Pickett has played most his career as midfield/forward but I think he would be the perfect player for the half back flank. Tough as nails, skillful and quick. He is the defender all forwards would fret to have to play on.

6. Fremantle - One of the best sides on paper in the league but they struggle for a proper coach. Fremantle in 2006 were one game off 6th place and two games off 8th. Don't expect them to win as many lucky games again this year. Never the less they now boast one of the stronger key forward lines in the league with the arival of Tarrant and the upcoming of Murphy. *Something I'd Try If I Was Chris Connoly*: A four man key forward line would work well with the Dockers. Pavlich at centre half forward, Tarrant at full forward and Murphy and Longmuir taking up the pockets. Then play Farmer and a resting midfielder on the flanks.

7. Geelong - A hard team to pick where they will finish because they have a great side but a shocking coach and leadership group. If Thompson comes to his senses and plays his talented young kids then they will make the finals and possibly challange the big clubs. The recruiting team down at Geelong is one of the best selecting 3 of the best players in the draft plus the most athletic kid at draft camp. *Something I'd Try If I Was Mark Thompson*: Play the kids. In the forward line leave Hawkins at full forward, N.Ablett at centre half forward and have the experienced Ottens or King resting in the forward line as an extra tall option. In the midfield give the likes of Selwood and Djerrkura plenty of time. Selwood can start in the thick of things. Djerrkura to start off the half back flank or wing and eventually move onball.

8. Richmond - The Tigers may cause the big upset of the season, knocking the Crows out of the 8. They have proved they can win big games, they have also proved they can be easily beaten. Once they fix up their consistency they will be a great side. Injuries may hurt them in the early rounds but once they get most their players on the park they will be geniune threat. *Something I'd Try If I Was Terry Wallace*: A four tall man forward line. Richardson-Schulz-Kingsley-Polak can be played with Krakouer and a resting midfielder making up the small positions. Thursfield when he returns from injury to be play as a 3rd tall in defence untill fully fit. When fit give him the full back or centre half back mantle.

9. Adelaide - This aging side will fall swiftly down the ladder this year. Neil Craig should start the year trying to win but if they begin failing to often he should begin playing the kids. Chris Knights should be given a bigger role this year and Nick Gill should be tried early in Hentschel's absent. Bock should also be given a forward line role. McGregor and Perrie should both be rotated bettween centre half forward and back. *Something I'd Try If I Was Neil Craig*: Give Thompson, Reilly, Knights and Van Berlo more time in the middle. Edwards and Goodwin won't be around forever.

10. Hawthorn - This team is a very exciting bunch. The young players are learning and so is the coach. The hawks are criminals at trade time gaining heaps of early draft picks for past it players. Due to this smart trading they have got themselves a great young team. Clarkson has got to give up on Dawson as a fullback for this team to reach the finals though. If that means getting another ruckman next year so Campbell can play there then so be it. *Something I'd Try If I Was Alistair Clarkson*: Let Franklin take a full time centre half forward role, give Thorp full forward with Dowler and Williams to support. Roughead would be ideal up forward but he may be needed in the weak defence.

11. Port Adelaide - Mark Williams is a great coach who made the correct sacrifice a few years ago by delisting older players in order for draft picks. Because of this Port have one of the better young sides in the comp. Still a year or two off finals but will be big when they make it. *Something I'd Try If I Was Mark Williams*: Put Big Damon White into the forward line as a permanment centre half forward. Trendrea can play full forward when he returns from injury. Damon is something special and now he just needs a fulltime job to take the next step.

12. Essendon - Kevin Sheedy and James Hird have been talking themselves up but most likely it will be all for nothing. Sure the return of Lloyd will add a few goals to their season score but there must be doubts over Mal Michael at fullback and his commitment to AFL. Young forwards such as Jay Neagle and Scott Gumbleton need to get as many games under their belt before the likes of Lloyd and Lucas retire. *Something I'd Try If I Was Kevin Sheedy*: To stop believing that the Bombers are a finals side. It's time to re-build but Sheeds continues to play for the win. Play young midfielders such as Tom Hislop and Bachar Houli as early as possible. Continue using McVeigh and Heffernan as taggers.

13. Collingwood - The Pies will be the biggest sliders of 2007. Mick Malthouse should've retired a few years back, he is well past it. Their ever so aging midfield is continued to be played over their young guns such as Pendlebury and Iles. The Magpies play to many small forwards in their games and don't have enough tall forward options. Rocca is getting older. Rusling is hot and cold. Travis Cloke has talent but he can't do it by himself. *Something I'd Try If I Was Mick Malthouse*: Give Pendlebury, Heath Shaw and Swan more time on ball than the likes of O'Bree, Licuria and Buckley, simple really.

14. Carlton - The Blues are now begining to field a very decent young side. One of the best young midfields is now forming over at Blueland with K.Simpson, M.Murphy, B.Gibbs, A.Bentick, A.Walker, A.Carrazzo and L.Blackwell. Add the experience of Scotland and Stevens and you have a fairly decent midfield. *Something I'd Try If I Was Denis Pagan*: The young list needs to be sorted out by someone, Simpson to run on the wing, Murphy and Gibbs to play onball pretty much fulltime, Bentick to tag and relieve an onballer, Walker can become the halfback who sets up all the play through the midfield and Carrazzo to become a similar player to Richmond's Andrew Raines in the back pocket, with Blackwell also spending ample time onball. Up forward Waite and Fisher can play as tall flankers with Kennedy at centre half forward. In defence Thorton will obviously play full back and Joe Anderson should be given a chance at some stage in the season to play as a running defender.

15. Brisbane - Of all the young rebuilding teams (Hawks, Power, Blues) the Lions have the least amount of very special kids. Sure Sherman, Adcock, Selwood and Rischitelli look like they may have a very big career ahead of them but apart from that most their young players are so far second class. Brisbane shouldn't be to bothered to pick up early picks in the next few years. *Something I'd Try If I Was Leigh Matthews*: Play Jamie Charman up forward with Bradshaw and Brown and let Wood take the ruck role. Give Selwood more time in the middle tagging the best player from the opposition.

16. Kangaroos - The Roos will finally crumble and end up north on the Gold Coast. Their membership is one of the worst in the league and their list isn't that great either. You have to feel sorry for Laidley that he has to coach such a poor side but I suppose it is his fault he traded all his early picks away for older players, one who has recently retired without making any sort of positive impact. *Something I'd Try If I Was Dean Laidley*: Play the few kids he has. Hansen should be put straight into defence with Watt and Brown and Thomas, Ross and Edwards should go straight into the forward line. Also play Hale up forward more often and let McIntosh take the full time ruck role as he is one of the few shining lights for the club.

Tredders will be back within a couple of weeks. Looks like the Adelaide Cows are the only club in the state with chronic knee injuries to worry about lol :D

Good to see you maintaining your standard , if you ever had any.

I would not wish an injury , nor celebrate one, on anyone. Even your captain. But thats me. You on the other hand.....

Are you all retarted? I guess so because lions in the bottom 4 is as logical as johnny howard get re-elcted when all his does is screw up the economy. We got brown, black, power, johnson, lapin and rising stars like sherman, adcock, moody, merret, roe, ect. So lay off the dope and actually use your brains for once.

OK

Lions = Last
