Guy was not fit for the role, for one reason or another, however, what about the people that hired him, are they fit for the role they have within Collingwood?

What has Hine done that puts him in the top 8 recruiters in the past 10 years?Think Hine will but you wouldn't think Harvey and Sanderson will.
I think some of the re-signing rates might have been related to triggers in previous contracts.Touché, I didn’t word it well. Contracts and salary cap should not be the responsibility of one single person.
So either it’s all him and the club is equally culpable for leaving him with 100% control........ or it’s a shared committee decision that he is just part of.
Either way the blame lies broader than just with him.
The worst is the AFL media team. You'd think they'd be more measured representing the league we compete in. But they've gone the hack as hard as anyone.

Thanks for clearing that up
Is he still with Willi? Anyone know how he's going.I am pretty sure that a few criticised what we gave up for Murray at the time of the trade. That criticism has proved to be accurate.
Harvey and Sanderson have no chance. If Buckley has any chance of surviving himself, he needs to prove he is up to the task of cutting two loyal assistants who have underperformed.
Hine might stay
Scharenberg was a known injury risk draftee with a foot injury which came about through overuse.Sure Off Tap, Shazza was a top end pick with - for a junior - strong skills and abilities whereas Freeman was atrociously fast but burdened with an opinionated and ignorant father.
Both endured simply unbelievable runs of injuries that never relented, Freeman's father was a royal pain and convinced his son to go to the saints where his injury woes continued despite the strident claims of his harpy of a father that it was all Collingwood's fault.
Shazza remained loyal to the Pies and they to him but in the end the unending tsunami of injuries wore his body down and his career was over before it even got a chance to get going.
If those lads bodies had been enabled them to live up to their draft promise things would have been very different rather than having a huge hole in the list for YEARS.
Not sure. I know he said he wanted to clear his nose, sorry name, etc but yeah...Is he still with Willi? Anyone know how he's going.

‘He didn’t watch much footy’: Ex-recruiter reveals stunning detail over Pies list boss
Former Collingwood recruit Matt Rendell has made a stunning revelation about the club’s outgoing list manager.www.news.com.au
Don't mind your posting but surely it's a tad naive to think that the AFL would be measured, fair or just in any single matter given they have more transgressions than all 18 clubs put together.
Rubbish it was not the foot that ruined his career.Scharenberg was a known injury risk draftee with a foot injury which came about through overuse.

Are you sure about all that?EFA. He re-signed Treloar, Stephenson, Phillips, Cox and Grundy to horrible horrible contracts traded in Beams and kept Reid on board for two years past his used by date. Yes things probably weren’t great from the moment we hired Allen, but all Guy did was kick the can down the road and then flat out lie to us about why we did what we did during the 2020 trade period. The Guy has blood on his hands!
He's certainly loving his time in the spotlight Rendell as the go to man for negative comments around Collingwood.
The alarming element is how far the recruitment team has been stripped back. Crikey we are down to Hine!
And we call ourselves a great club FMD - run by rank amateurs
Rubbish it was not the foot that ruined his career.
There is method behind the madness with the Brown kids, if we can get 100 games into them we have first access to Gavin Brown's grandchildren, otherwise it's a bit of a head scratch right now.
I was one of the few that thought the Beams deal might get us a Premiership, I am also prepared to put my hand up when I got something wrong.
A lot of people saying Josh Daicos was in the category you mentioned above, that one worked as many had Cal Brown in front of him. Kelly still has some time, has the capacity just needs some luck with injuries and an extended crack at it.
Not need to excuse the interruption, the input is welcomed.
Media is just piling in on us now.

We have quite a few people who aren't fit for the role they are in.Guy was not fit for the role, for one reason or another, however, what about the people that hired him, are they fit for the role they have within Collingwood?
I did, hoped he would get himself right.Well you were admitting that you thought recruiting Dayne Beams was a good idea, so it was plausible that you were being serious.
