Herald Sun so it is a pay wall.

In essence, it says that he has been given upwards of $800k per annum to go home. His manager (Ralph Carr who also squeezed Richmond with Dusty) has told Freo and West Coast that Bolton will be staying put in Tigerland.

I expect Richmond will retain him but at a pretty high salary. Agents like Carr usually use home town clubs to push up the price in negotiations.

Not sure whether we both offered big dollar or whether it was Freo doing their usual trade overpaying with us saying we would be interested without going silly.

I have no problems Freo keeping Vic club's honest by offering big coin.

Money aside, Tigers would be after a tidy draft haul or a B22 player to even open negotiations. I don't think we've got much of either to offer.

Why wouldn't the Eagles say that they would offer big money with full knowledge that he's not going to leave Richmond, hence putting the squeeze on their salary cap?

Actually pretty easy to tell agent a figure - but on the proviso it was for a nominal transfer value. That said, most agents usually only go ahead with the deal if they think the buying club has the picks or player that can make it happen.

Trade/Draft targets that have been spoken about:
- Ben Miller (KPP/Ruck) - DFA
- Ely Smith (Mid) - 4th rd pick
- Jeremy Sharp (Outside mid / Wing) - 3rd rd pick
- Jordan Clark (Outside mid / Wing / HBF) - 2nd rd pick
- Riley Garcia (mid) - 4th rd pick

Given the amount of talent available for mids and KPP, and the requirement to use our first rounder, I would take our first three picks off the table. Jordan Clark's availability is the only variable in play for mine.

I don`t know what`s happened to Jeremy Sharp but he`s a player I`d be happy to see at WCE ..

He's lost his edge..

Its concerning that he's not getting regular games at the Suns, I agree. Not sure why.
They do have a massive list, and plenty of early picks not getting games.
Jez McLennan, Flanders, Jeffreys, Davies and even Brodie.
Ellis, Anderson are both ahead of him and playing well.

Can anyone please post the squad? Damn paywalls.

Ethan Regan and Lawson Humphries, two of our NGA players are amongst the squad posted above. Just thought that was neat.
3, Richard Farmer is listed as one of our NGA prospects

If Cripps comes to us, I will 100% support it and hope that we get him fully fit. He’s clearly not been 100% for the last two years, issues with shoulders last year and an unknown issue this year but he would immediately make us stronger in our midfield which right now is our weakest line.

Yeo, Kelly, Cripps would be an unbelievable starting midfield for the next 3-4 years and it would give us time to develop the replacements given Shuey is coming to the last couple of years and we don’t have a natural replacement just yet.

So that’s the plus.

The negative of course is that we can’t really afford him, we would have to give something decent to get him and there’s no guarantee he does get back to 2019 Cripps level. If we do go down the avenue of looking at him, I’d be wanting a fairly exhaustive medical.

Personally, I think he’s already agreed to terms with Carlton, just isn’t the priority signing with McKay being the hot ticket at Carlton right now. They may well have to spend 900k to keep him at the blues.

Nothing shits me more than this increasingly pervasive PSA school angle creeping into The Worst’s coverage of underage footy in this state. Why do the elite private schools only get mentioned along with the WAFL club in these lists? Why isn’t it (Subiaco/Churchlands SHS) or (Swan Districts/Governor Stirling SHS) if a player attends a public school?

Becoming like BT and JB with their Xavier College/Haileybury footy factory garbage that they regularly come up with on Friday night footy.

Yeah, I honestly believe Managers have deals with some papers to push up their price of a player.

They mention the PSA school because those players do not have a full Colts season. The PSA enforces the school football first hence you need to look at not just WAFL colts games (and indeed stats).

If you watch the colts, you will note the ups and downs of results depending whether the PSA are playing for certain clubs. Typically East Freo without their Aquinas stars and Claremont without their Scotch and Christchurch stars as examples are much weaker.

It says a lot about the strength of the PSA competition. Have a look at their weights rooms and the caliber of their coaches.

Heard Gilchrist bang on about the Scotch College Cricket Factory. Same thing there.

I'm guessing in Perth it is like in Melbourne, where often these players are given a scholarship.

They are more like footy garages, than footy factories. Don't build them, just go and buy them so they can show them off for a few years...

I went to a PSA school and I find it a bit disturbing that the west live streams the games. Boys in year 11 and 12 have enough going on without having to worry about firsts footy being turned into a public spectacle. Yes, there are future AFL stars playing, but most players are just highschool kids having a kick, that will go on to play ammos during uni.
