If we got him instead of Bolton we'd be well into the top 4.

Not sure about that. Brisbane being blessed with an amazing injury run has allowed their younger players to gel together, along with the established players. That's why when they cop an injury now it isn't a big deal because the system is entrenched.

We haven't had that luxury.

Possibly.. but he has a star studded midfield at his disposal.
I am certain our lack of midfield depth and class is our biggest weakness and coach killer.

No they shouldn't. And I still believe we should get rid of the sooks who complained about Teague, even if he is not coaching next year.

We do not need toxic elements at this footy club who are insubordinate/do not respect the chain of command.

Our players and their self-indulgent, undisciplined attitudes have played a major factor in our poor culture since Parko retired.

They get paid more than enough money, time for them to put their big boy pants on, swallow their pride and put aside any objection they have about Teague, and actually perform like they are paid to do so accordingly, instead of acting like Bernard Tomic Prats.

Plenty of assumptions there. You don’t know anything about what’s going on and neither do I. A good club would involve the players in the process.

Things can turn around quickly.

Currently have 3 midfielders at above the standard -- Cripps, Walsh, and Ed.

If (yes, it's a big one) Kennedy, Dow, and SPS can string some consecutive games of good level football that number could easily double by the end of the year.

Williams gets a kick up the ass (should be kicking his own ass, quietly I think he is) and comes back healthy and fit enough to do what was expected

Setterfield puts the horror season behind him and comes back with fitness and confidence.

Cunners overcomes the knee setback .. Fisher finds some confidence in his body and can play the hybrid role

Fogarty and Stocker kick on

A couple of the unknowns come on in their development.

It's never as bad as it looks. Never as good as it could be.

Is it the players or the coaching? I look at it as follows.

In the business world, imagine I am in charge of a team of 40 people. All have been selected for particular skills and have come regarded as among the best in their field. But they underperform across the board and despite weekly changes to who is doing what, it never seems to gel. Young staff members seem to be learning bad habits. Discontent grow within and around the team because they aren't succeeding. When asked for answers as to how things can improve, I say the team needs to try harder and practice more.

Who ultimately wears responsibility and gets replaced? Me or about 6-10 of the team? Think the answer is clear.

If we had Fagan, Hodge probably would have come to us. Would have made a huge difference.

I have a suspicion that the club is getting cold feet on recruiting/trading for Cerra ?

Anyone else heard the same ?

We should be a more attractive proposition as soon as coach is confirmed, and OMC & Gov & Curnow Charlie are available, our team will have a different presence on game day, win a few games.
Id have a good look at J.Hooper or T. Miller both have offer , good grunt & skill combination, not contracted and not so high profile, shouldn’t cost big amounts.

With Charlie playing reserves next week would love to see both he and Kemp in the seniors for the game against the filth …
Surely Charlie would get more than a game in the reserves.

if curnow returns to playing next week (VFL) would he be a chance to play in seniors at some stage this season with 7 rounds left after this week?

Do we take the cautious approach and leave him playing vfl this season, get a good preseason into him and start fully fit next season or do we get him playing seniors asap?

Would be nice, can't see it happening. We need to be ultra conservative with Charlie. Hopefully Kempy can get a taste of senior footy before the season is out.

Until we actually start getting some depth and quality bottom 6 players onto our list/starting 22, we ain't finishing top 4, no matter what the game plan is or who is coaching us.

How many of our current available best 22 would get a game at the Dogs or Dees right now ? 5 or 6. Tops.

question can be tweaked. How much better would they be with the Dofs if the Dee’s game plan and coaching?

Hope not … he should be more than ready by now …

Hasn't played in over 2 years. How match fit do you reckon he'd get in one VFL game on what would likely be very limited minutes.

We all want to see him back out there but there's no way he's spending just the one week at the lower level.
