Interesting exercise...
Compared last year to this year as we are at the same point of the home away season..

2020 - Took out the St Kilda game as we haven't played them yet.
2021 - Took out the second double game against Collingwood and Fremantle.

On the data, this year we are 2 Wins and a 5 ladder position worse off team... But we have
Increased our scoring by 33.68% or 324 points
Decreased our defending score by 45.72% or 455 points (Doesn't help by being the team to score the most 100+ scores with x8)

Make your own mind up but for me, it's not great viewing and shows we have regressed this year...

Edit: Moved here may be more appropriate here..

Pyke, Leppitsch, Scott, Lyon

one of the above (at least) will be coaching Carlton next year.
Scott or Lyon for me. Pyke was a caricature of himself by the end of his tenure at Adelaide, and it would require him to have learnt an awful lot since. Leppitsch has behaved like a self-promoter since leaving Richmond.

Alpha might not be the right word, but compared to the great coaches of recent years, Teague's missing something. No nonsense coaches who know who they are, have supreme confidence in themselves, defend their clubs from in-ept media. Teague isn't that.
Its not alpha male, its about setting a standard and holding the players to account. Im not seeing it from teague.

3 or those 4 will be an immediate upgrade based on that they've shown they can actually do the top job and maximise the talent at their disposal. Leppa would be another appointment based on potential and I hope we take a different approach this time around.

We need to bring in some Brisbane 3peat mentality

Brad Scott/Michael Voss head coach
Leppitch senior assistant/backline
Nigel Lappin midfield
Blake Caracella strategy/transition
Craig Macrae forward
Luke Power head of development

The entitlement has been passed down through the playing ranks for nearly 20 years by my estimation.

I could mention a couple of names that I strongly believes pushed this attitude during this time, but that might be unfair.

You don't need to name names but for me the defining moment was Murphy as captain.

I never liked it and I never thought he was a leader, aside from being one of our best players at the time.

Murphy has been there for 5 coaches, Curnow 4, Casboult 4, Jones 3, Cripps 3, Docherty 3, everybody else 2 or less.

I won't count Betts because he left because of one coach, missed the next and then returned under Teague.

Maybe I'm playing favourites but I don't think Jones and Curnow are the ringleaders here.

I'd like to hear it. It's hard to tell from the outside, but Murphy is the first name that comes to mind.

Shorter quarters last year.

Won 3 out of our last 4 tighetning up the defensive stuff. Lose our 1 forward option and what do we decide to do?

Give up our big strength of late and try and create a turnover game shootout.

Idiotic coaching and papers stamped for me. If we lost that game 56-35 I wouldn't be too disappointed because we were decimated by forward options. But at least our coaches gave us the best chance to win that game. The only way we were beating North with that lineup was keeping them to under 10 goals.

The only reason we were in the game in the first half was due to their turnovers not exposing our tactical setup.
Yep just infuriating seeing defenders 10 metres in front of their men and getting done over the back who would have thought .
Hard to understand how Teague abandoned the improvement we had made defensively over the past month .
And without a forwardline that had any chance of pulling off the fast break shit we had been playing for most of the year .

This game needed accountability and endeavour clogged up shitty game 80 tackles style game .

If we still lose fine atleast we gave it a crack .
The unaccountable way we played yesterday was orchestrated by the coaches and all it succeeded in doing was giving the players an out to not work hard enough defensively .

full clean out for mine - maybe power stays.

get Ross in the head seat and watch the best assistants come across as well.

coaches would be licking their lips to get a list like this at their disposal.
Walsh, McKay, weiters, Charlie, SPS, Saad, Williams, Cripps, Martin etc etc all 27 and under. We’ll have three all Australians this year. The talent is there it just needs competent management and system.
Agree will be extremely difficult imo to get decent assistants with Teague as coach .

in 2017 Bolton won 6 - Teague has out done Bolton by a single game. Never won more than that. Next year he enters his 4th season.....yes he had a half as well.

It was a huge stuff up.
Cannot understand any interest for him in a leading role. Assistant yes.

The biggest problem we have on field and it’s continued through our last few coaches is our lack of aggression and intent.

We are the biggest bruise free team in the league.

You can forgive poor skills but you can’t forgive a lack of intent and pressure.

I hope the review/new coach can change this
👍
