What degree of confidence do we have that the board that oversaw the appointment Teague, Liddle and Lloyd are going to get it right this time round.

I personally would like to see Austin play hardball when dealing for Cerra.
I understand the value of creating great trading relationships with other recruiters, and clubs for that matter, however in this instance I believe we need to show some spine, to everybody.

It may be unders but I would say "our first-round pick, nothing more, take it or leave it"
If they decide to lose him for nothing, and it means we don't acquire him, totally fine with it, at least it shows we're not bluffing in future dealings.

I hope we become more ruthless with potential trades and trust that if we can't get a deal done then we're confident to hit the draft.
Obviously, times will change and different strategies implemented but I think with this trade it's necessary.

Plus, if you're to believe the media, and we haven't been heavily in contact with Cerra, then we owe him nothing.

Safe to say that we’ll know for sure by judging Lyon’s demeanour on FC tomorrow night.

If he starts distancing himself from the head coach role then we will know the ITKs are on the money.

The media frenzy, even by people that are seemingly respected ie Whately, Caro, Gerard Healy, Riewoldt...even Leigh Matthews along with all the other hangers on, is just ridiculous.

So what is it so disastrous that Carlton has done? Conducted a review into the football department. Received the findings. Discussing with relevant parties. Yet to make any formal decisions.

By Tuesday, the day after the season has just finished.

FFS...it's a joke.

And as for the "poor Teague" narrative and how "badly he's been treated"...spare me. The bloke has coached an AFL side for 2 seasons...on a good wage. Has a pretty ordinary record in a number of aspects and his future is up in the air. If he gets sacked, he gets a pretty bloody good payout...one that Joe Public would happily accept given he'd in all likelihood get a decent job next season.

I for one think the Board has done a pretty bloody hood job keeping this from leaking like a sieve. Most in the media are just cut that they're not privy to what's going on.

Now that things have become untenable, might be getting rid of Teague regardless now.

If we don't end up with Clarko, guessing there will be a process behind hiring our next coach. I doubt it'll just be straight given to Lyon.

Bringing in Cerra means we can afford to lose a mid. Reckon if they ask abut Fisher or SPS we would be into it. Cerra in means Dow becomes fringe, could he go and involve a 3 way trade?

SOS built our list with extra minds so we could have a cull, keep the best and trade the rest and that time is now.

I'm not super excited about Cerra, he is a lot like what we already have but a little better. Talented but not driven hard enough. Could be on the verge of maturity so worth a shot. Our first pick, it's a big one, would like to use it on a gun small forward if there is one, but hey, look at what we did with Saad. We might just give them the pick.
