Here are some examples:

Richmond: 38, 42, 47 = 1176 points
Adelaide: 23, 44 = 1177 points

Richmond: 28, 42, 47 = 1388 points
Adelaide: 23, 37, 62 = 1421 points

Pick 17 = 1025 points
These points will all change after the pies use all their pick on Daicos, so neither team will have these picks when it comes to the actual draft.

ignore the point value from our end, we would never get that upgrade without the other team needing points. It’s a good deal for us.

Why are people trying to find a 1st round pick for an uncontracted player who had half a good season last year?

Don't get me wrong i definitely rate Dawson, but some people doing mental gymnastics to get Swans a 1st rounder is a bit much, and over-complicating things.

Give them our 2022 2nd rounder and send them our back ended picks in the 60's.

If we finish in a similar position next year then it more or less works out to about Pick 17 in terms of 'points'. Let the Swans do the hard yards of potentially using those picks to get into the 1st rounder before draft night.

They won't be trading any 2022 picks with certain Suns out of contract! Hopefully the crows can keep one extra pick under 40 for this year's draft

We will have the option to trade 2023 picks then and Gold Coast would likely be more interested in those as they’ve just loaded up on 2022 selections.

Selling the future for today wouldn't be the way I'd go especially in these current Covid restricted conditions for players and recruiters. You would hope by 2023 everybody is vaccinated and the players and recruiters can get back to some form of normality both for playing conditions and talent identification purposes. I think we still need to be playing the long game for now?

IMO we should be aiming for a premiership by 2026 based on our list profile and how long other sides have taken to build to a flag. Bringing in players like Dawson and holding Crouch matches this timeline.

I’d say with that in mind I’d be prioritising the 2022 draft over the 2023 draft. E.g. if we’re trading for Rankine I’d prefer we do it with a 2023 second than a 2022 second.

I will say though that I don’t really follow the draft class and know how deep respective drafts are so that’s obviously a factor.

Cart before the horse re Rankine who has given no clear evidence he's even interested in returning to SA at this point in time.

A lot of visionaries on this board.

Yeah I doubt he’s coming as well.

But I’m sure the club is considering him and other OOC SA talent when it comes to what they trade and how much they pay.

I wouldn't be surprised if we bring in Durmont

He has held off signing with North, someone must be interested

You wouldn't be surprised but most on this board would be totally p1ssed off!

It's hard enough for our young guys to get a run without bringing in another mediocre footballer to make it harder.

Why are we doing the running around? If pick 23 and 44 equate to 17 then give Sydney 23 and 44 and let them haggle it out
We've actually added some 2022 draft sweeteners to the 17 as well though there's no detail on that.
