Winning a flag doesn't automatically make you a good person, but **** me any danger of some actual salacious revelations?
I have been divorced, recall having a drink with friends once and have bet against a Melbourne win … sorry best I can do. Premiership coaches as you well know are as pure as the driven snow.

When we were a club full of nice blokes we were shit

So I am happy to be a club full of bullying, dickhead winners!

My cousin actually works at the Hotel Sorrento and the dees players/sometimes coaches seem to be there every week, we should move our training base and offices down there.

Yeah doesn't sound good from him given the prominence of concussion concerns and Bradshaw's history.
Story for those interested:
This would happen at a lot of clubs I'm sure, perhaps not with the same demeanour though. The pressure on the coaches and doctors to get players passed fit to play would be immense.
Not excusing Goodwin but they're not playing tiddlywinks here.

Didn't Gus say in one of the podcasts last year he hasn't had a concussion since 2017?
Sounds familiar, but concussion symptoms can be intermittent it seems. I don't think KK had a concussion during his year with us but still had problems. Ditto for Mccartin who hadn't had a recent concussion but still got dizzy/blurry vision from time to time for a while after he left the Saints.

The complaint by the Dr might not have only raised recent examples I guess
Nah the article I read said that interaction was from 2020. Which also surprises me as Chadstone would have been closed for most of the year.

If Goodwin tried to pressure the medical staff into allowing a concussed player to play then that is completely inexcusable, but I don't see that from the quote:

“Why the f*** would you change the plan when we agreed he could push through his comfort zone. F***ing (player’s name) was at Chadstone with his mates last Thursday but is f***en concussed today.”

I read that as Goodwin being frustrated about the plan changing and asking rhetorically about why the medical diagnosis was changed when the player had appeared fine before. It's really dumb and unprofessional to speak to a club doctor like that (and definitely qualifies as workplace bullying) but if he'd said that in a more measured way ("why did you change the plan? How is it possible that the player was fine on Thursday but unfit to train today?") then there'd be no issue. If it went further than that - if Goodwin really tried to pressure the medical staff into clearing concussed players to play - then it's a much bigger issue, but the quote alone doesn't support that.

As for the quote about the preseason after 2018, I think Goodwin is well within his rights to question the management of the players there (even if he again phrased it in a needlessly hostile and unprofessional way). The 2019 preseason was a total ****ing circus which completely derailed the season. I remember at the AGM someone (Josh Mahoney?) mentioning that the squad collectively were only able to complete 53% of the program, meaning every player on average only had half a preseason. That is either stupendously back luck or really bad medical management and I think the coach is well within his rights to press the medical team for justifications in that case.

So i am confused . Hasn't this been already settled ? . Is this before the courts again ? The timing of the release of documents seems rather suspicious . I also wonder about why there wasn't a "Non disclosure agreement" in place , as they seem so popular now a days . I am guessing 95% of Demon supporters couldn't give a **** about any of this , and the players with Premiership medallions even less. If Goodwin has learnt and evolved from this, well done to him . I fully understand what its like to only have access to your kids whenever a court decides you can. I worked in professional kitchens , had a hot frying pan thrown at me , am so glad it is not expectable any more . Is Goodwin yelling at a doctor what we are discussing ? . Has any player complained of being bullied ? Please feel free to enlighten me ?

The bullying aspect seems new to me. I vaguely remember the doc leaving in acrimonious circumstances but hadn't heard about the bullying angle. I think that's what makes it more of a scandal. The beers and betting stuff is pretty innocuous tbh, even the board drama is probably par for the course in many clubs.
I agree with JP2 that (if true) those quotes are very unprofessional and belligerent from Goody and if he was pushing for a concussed player to be called fit that is a serious issue. However it doesn't seem anything has been proven (and may never be bar an admission from Goody).
Will probably go down as Goody's word v the doctors and can be dragged up intermittently by the media but I expect it to die away in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the reply , I can well understand Goodwins frustration being told half his list is still recovering from surgery. I am guessing this is the 4-6 weeks doctor we are discussing . Its just the timing of this that seems strange to me .

**** I love Chadstone shopping centre.

It's a ****ed up place though, I can understand why someone would feel a bit concussed after visiting it. Lots of loud music, horrendously bright lights and tiling etc.

Yeah pretty strange. Someone leaked it but hard to know who. Bartlett or the doc the obvious suspects, but why not do it just after being sacked (in both cases)? Maybe someone else on the board wants to stir shit ahead of the election? All speculation though.

fu** I love Chadstone shopping centre.

I went there for Christmas shopping after they redid the bit with the cinema H&M etc I got such a stimulus overload that I felt completely disoriented and nearly walked into several people.

That place is like Mordor for me.
