The Azov Battalion is a piss poor excuse for the Russian invasion of Ukraine, not a valid reason for the shelling of Kiev and 100,000 troops crossing the borders from Russia and Belarus.

Which came first, the creation and funding of Azov Battalion, or the Russian invasion of Crimea and Russian on-ground involvement with and backing of pro-Russian separatists in the Donbas region? Reality is none of this matters. Azov were recruited by Ukrainians and the west to fight in a proxy war with forces recruited and funded by Russia to destabilise the Donbas region post the Russian invasion of Crimea. Putin has been playing the long game with Ukraine, keeping it destabilised as long as possible, having boots on the ground for almost a decade waiting for the moment to push back against perceived western encroachment on his sphere of influence. That there are dodgy ****ers recruited to fight this proxy war is no surprise and standard procedure. The whole 'their proxy fighters are nastier and our proxy fighters' thing is just pantomime bullshit.
