Port coach to AFL critics: I told you so

"I said 10 or 12 weeks ago: wait until the end of the year," Hinkley told reporters on Friday, the eve of Port's preliminary final against the Bulldogs.

"Wait and judge us when we can get all our people that we need on the team playing well together, give us some continuity back together and we can play at a high level."

Now, Port are the shortest-priced favourites to win a preliminary final and Hinkley is at ease.

Ultimately the reason we are in this mess isnt because of Hinkley

Its because Koch is weak as piss and he hitched his wagon to a must have "10 year coach" when he should have moved him on years ago

Koch is the one ****ing our club, and quite frankly there should be a "Sack Koch" thread on BF every bit as much as this "Sack Hinkley" thread

"We have taken some good parts out of last week's game - our ball movement; and the way we controlled the ball kept us right in the game until a 10-minute period (at the end of the second term when Melbourne scored five goals)," Burton said.

"The last quarter was promising as well. We matched it for 85 per cent of the game against the reigning premiers and we will have a game plan for Carlton that we will stick to - and give it a real good shake."

….

Do the players actually believe that nonsense?

I like Burto but that attitude is absolute dogshit i'm sorry. You can talk about good signs out of a loss when you're in the middle of a rebuild and playing a team full of kids. The last time that was acceptable for us was in 2013.

"Give it a real good shake" jesus.

It's the kind of shake where you let loose a turd from your pants. In this case we are the leg in a $90 pair of Ports Macron track pants and the turd is Hinkley.

It feels like this is a disconnect on par with previous wanton misunderstandings of the [critical portions] of the membership base.

Most of us were militantly-engaged circa 2010-12 when the club was at its lowest ebb. Yeah, the losses weren’t ideal and Football Park was a dump that was hard to access, but we knew our lot, and that genuine hope was always on the horizon what with the young list, emancipation from the AFL, the One Club merger, and Adelaide Oval coming thick and fast.

There were myriad reasons to keep turning up in spite of it all.

But expecting people to keep turning up these days, only to confirm the fact Hinkley and the geniuses in charge have completely torched multiple chances to win premierships and properly retake the city for the first time since 1991, is pure delusion.

That the product itself is typically putrid — dour, negative footy interrupted by shrill ground announcers and KFC ads, punctuated by the opposition’s song — is the icing on the failcake.

In 2011-12, you still had the rusted ons.

Now they've spent a decade shitting on the rusted ons to cultivate theatregoers. Completely ignoring the supporter base to the level of thumbing your nose at them over multiple issues. Regularly coming out with "We think we know a little more about football than your average joe blow off of the street" sort of comments.

The rusted ons are fed up and know that simply asking this regime won't achieve change.

How can anyone find any positives from a game where the team fails to score a goal for nearly 90 minutes? It's like a Pommy fan saying about the last Ashes series, "Yeah we got smashed, but at least we drew in Sydney."

YOU SCORED ZERO GOALS IN A HALF. IT LOOKED LIKE BEING OUR LOWEST SCORE EVER UNTIL A FEW JUNK TIME CHEAPIES.

we will see if Ken has the guts to stay with the same game play, it will be very funny if he does and if he doesnt then it will most probably still be a blow out but this is all good in the delerious world of the PAFC, be grateful and shut up.

I know it's not new content but seriously, what a f****** **** head.
It's unbelievable these statements have not been plastered over the media and haunting him today. I'll tell you what though, I'm not going to make him forget it as we relentlessly post on socials....

"every dream that you have at the start of the season is to be playing in this game" Wake up people, Ken has lived his dream, we are now living in his nightmare, somewhere along the line Ken turns into Freddy Kruger

I wouldn't be surprised if Luke Beveridge had the comments on the wall in the Bulldogs dressing room before the game, and said in his pre match motivational speech, "Port seems to be overconfident - let's get out there and ambush them." If that's what he said, then it had the desired effect.

But playing in a preliminary final ISN'T every player's dream - they dream of playing in a grand final and winning a premiership. But maybe Hinkley is satisfied with falling short - he's done so regularly in his time at Alberton.

Are they playing ike they believe it?

The clubs control what they say. Look at Jenkins who admitted his kick hit the post straight after the Showdown. Two days later he was saying I really couldn't tell. He was told what to say.

We are definitely past the point where Hinkley can be looked as a nice but stubborn man who's best was not good enough to win a flag for us.

He's a selfish manipulative simpleton out to secure his own interests of highly paid stable employment and reputation before anything else that has been a key figure in tearing apart the fabric of this club.

How lucky has Hinkley and his family been to get into this situation. First he's plucked out of nowhere by Blight to assist at St.Kilda, somehow makes his way to Geelong where anyone could have had success there, get a couple of years on the Gold Coast which at that stage no one really knows whats good or not then he's basically the only person left standing in the race for our senior job and not only that, he manages to end up getting the biggest ride any coach in the history of the game has seen.

It would be like winning division one a couple of times.

Close to $8mil dollars so far, and that doesn't even include the blinds.

Hinkley has made enough dough out of us to sell up here as soon as he's given the arse, buy some acreage outside of Warnambool, set up a kennel and race Greyhounds out of Geelong Greyhound Racing Club. Might even coach one of the local sides ...
