It's a personal hate of mine, using colours of rivals. Maroon is fine in that regard - we came out with a red away kit years back that got slammed for basically being Forest.

Some of my favourite kits have a centered badge but if you do that, you then have to have the kit sponsor badge to the side. Or be like Barca in the early 2000s and just not have a shirt sponsor at all.
