Some of you need to chill out, be better than geelong supporters.

We dont need to wish injuries on anyone or hope someone evens it up.

Just be content in the fact we win when it really matters.

Also the thread is about Stewart and Prestia

So Gleeson is targeting the fact that Stewart intended to bump.......does that raise the possibility that the AFL bypass the MRO's grading of 'careless?'

Sounds like the AFL tribunal are asking for 4 weeks on Stewart's hit on Prestia. Grossly inadequate for such an act of thuggery. What about potential lifelong lasting CTE effects on players. A sad day for our great game.
As someone who suffers from CTE and all to well knows the long term side effects associated I would be more than happy for the book to be thrown at Stewart so this shit is wiped from the game

I don't care anymore , the whole comp.is rooted
Discusting corrupt umpiring that manufacture results against us, now changing wording so Stewart can get less weeks fmd the Afl don't even try hide their corruption and agenda's
These campaigners can do whatever the **** they want and never be held accountable
And they wonder why crowds are down .

reluctantly agree , it is not a fair and even competition, just about had enough...

It will be but the AFL’s position should be set up so that 4 is the minimum, not the maximum.
If it was classed intentional it would be minimum 4 weeks. Thats why they classified it careless, penalty is 3+ weeks. By giving 4 weeks they can argue it's above the minimum penalty.

“Less than half a second.” FMD. I hope the Tribunal don’t fall for that. Less than half a second is roughly three times as long as an AFL player requires to react to what he sees, make up his mind on a course of action and carry out that course of action. All that shows is it is possible it was not a pre-meditated action, but it was certainly a meditated action, ie he summed up the situation and decided to bump Prestia to the head.

The entire league is designed that way. From match review definitions to game rules. It's all designed to be interpretation and that way the AFL is never wrong and never liable for any litigation. This season I've been moving from disinterest to actually starting to hate the game.

Not to mention the favt he CHOSE to bump meaning he had alternatives.

When you say “they” we should be clear here.

It was specifically Brad Scot who classified this as careless. He just happens to be the Geelong coach’s twin brother. But of course, there is no conflict of interest issue for anyone to worry about.

Interesting point from Stewart's counsel, arguing that he only had 0.4 of a second from when Prestia tapped on to when he hit, 0.4 secs means he travelled around 5 metres past the ball to hit Dion.................

Superhuman reflexes from Selwood then who can be seen reacting to a change in direction of the ball in the time it takes Stewart to keep running towel up Prestia.

I for one don’t give a shit about the ban as it doesn’t take into account the context of the season. Ladder position/Top 4 has likely been altered as a result of this incident. The fact there is no penalty imposed on Geelong that benefits Richmond just shows how backwards our sport is.

For an incident like that it should be an automatic send off, Geelong play with 3 interchange, and two weeks to match concussion protocol. Instead, 3-4 teams have greater chance of beating Geelong, and whilst that could benefit us, it could work against us in multiple ways.

But he bumped when he should have been looking to tackle/intercept… for me that makes it so much more intentional, he wasn’t bracing he was coming in to bump a player that may or may not have had the ball.

Exactly. Selwood went to tackle, saw Prestia tap the ball and managed to alter hisnthought process to target Graham. Why couldn't Stewart?

There were 5 players in and around the contest. 4 of them had eyes on the ball. 1 didn't. Guess who the one was?

You can't tell me it wasn't intentional.

And then Stewart comes out yesterday and says he did what he did to help the team.
