we got a pretty good insight into how Hinkley works when Kane let it slip that Ken rang him after the prelim last year and ripped shreds off him for being critical of the players. I mean who does that after failing to stand up in the national spotlight and get flogged by a team that was on 1 leg........only Ken. You can also bet he done the rounds this week making sure ever media outlet has been given the party line to once again cast the supportere base as a bunch of ferals who are ungrateful. If the board is buying this garbage then just forget the club until its all over.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Hinkley has an undiagnosed personality disorder. His behaviour is very odd at times.

Lol. One of the clubs that is literally not beholden to their supporters in any way shape or form.

Remember this wierd bunch of supporters putting pressure on your board Caro?

Remember the Collingwood supporters who overthrew the board?

We can't do that. View attachment 1472559
They're just appealing to Koch's ego and trying to give him an out by showing he can stand up to those pesky supporters by sticking fat with Hinkley instead of, you know, sacking history's longest serving coach at a single club not to make a GF in a club who's stated mission in life is "We Exist to Win Premierships".

He also wanted Matt Turner barred from the post game press conference at one stage.

Matt Turner seems to be one of the few trying to apply the blow torch.

The atmosphere at the club from Ken through to the coaches and players is one that places emphasis on everyone being happy and "connected." The fact that the footy dept were upset by Koch's comments is the evidence you need to be clear that there is absolutely zero ruthlessness in the organisation. Ken and Co have fostered this environment for too long. Everyone is comfortable and life is good, regardless of results. They pay lip service to being accountable for performance, because lets be honest, there are only consequences for performance when Ken doesn't like you (Wingard, Ladhams, Hayes etc). How on earth DBJ has not been dropped this year is staggering. Boak's flipping doco personified it too. Winning footy games is not the priority. I understand that connection and people pulling in the same direction is incredibly important, but it should not come at the cost of ruthlessly doing whatever it takes to try and win and be better.

How does a club let the coach and his cronies run a campaign to support a guy who has achieved nothing in 10 years? Where is Richardson in this? There is a dearth of leadership and its not going to get better until either Ken goes or Koch does and someone else comes in and flicks Ken and re-sets the priorities of the footy club

I don't hate him because of his coaching. Primus was a worse coach than Hinkley and I don't hate Primus. The reason for the hatred is because of his dismissive attitude towards fans and his refusal to step down from a job that he's clearly not good enough for unless the club sacks him and pays him out, even after having already failed us for the last 10 years.

Despite me thinking he's a poor coach, if Ken had come out over the last week or two with finals now out of the question and had the integrity to say 'I acknowledge my results haven't been good enough, for the good of the club I'm moving on', I'd be happy to wish him the best. Instead he's come out to basically say 'I don't give a s**t what the supporters think, I'm gonna make these people drag me out kicking and screaming, and I'm going to drain them of every cent I can on the way out'. * him.
Very well said, I agree entirely.

Timmy G needs to grow a pair and call him out. Comes across as a sycophant in his media gigs.
Absolutely.

'Paid employee of the club' is often an excuse for behaviour like this, but not anymore, not with Tim.

I cannot accept the man has sold himself out like this. Maybe his internal fortitude isn't as strong as we all thought.

It's not good enough and I don't care how much $$$ he gets.

I couldn't of said any better.

CD can go I've never seen the fuss he should've stuck to cricket.

Spawning 'The Summer of George' was his greatest achievement.

Very sad when even Tim has rolled over. Gotta pay the bills and feed the kids.

I wouldn't be fooled by the tough talk that comes out from Kochie every year around the same time.

1. The Board value stability above all else - given the clubs position; they don't want to have to risk the highs and lows of an unknown quantity.
2. The Board don't want to be seen as pandering to what they claim to be a vocal minority (whether they are out of touch with the general supporter base is another argument to be had)
3. Ken still has the support of the playing group
4. The ball is in Ken's court if he wants to call time.
5. They'll throw some of the assistants under the bus and classify that as change.
