Geelong vs pies final should not be at the mcg.

I've got no problem playing at Kardinia Park if we get a chance to play there at least semi-regularly in the H&A season (at least once every 2 years).

It's ok to have a home ground advantage, but unreasonable if our senior team hasn't been given an opportunity to play there since 1999. And most of our senior players have never set foor on the joint.

We're always on of the two 'big ticket' home games for the Cats that they have agreed to with the AFL to fill their coffers. It ain't our fault that this is the case! By all means push back on the AFL to get 11 home games at Kardinia and give us a look at it, but quit whinging about once finals hit until then.
Showing your ignorance there champ, Geelong requests 11 home games at KP each year and makes more money from a sellout KP than they do from a sellout MCG

I've never heard them argue about playing the Easter Monday home game at their second home ground the MCG.

The line always get trotted out that they request all home games in Geelong but if that was true they would be asking to be removed from the Easter Monday fixture.

Cats may as well be playing Roger Federer, cause it’s gonna be a straight sets affair

It just warps my mind the acceptance your club has over this issue we are talking about significant income and sponsorship opportunities and exposure that comes with winning the flag.

Clubs look for every bit of 1% extra come finals time yet you are giving up a significant advantage which you earned the right to.

2017 and 2019 would of seen you in GF i put my house on it.

It's not ignorance, as I know you'd rather play 11 home games at KP but wear 2 marquee games away, just as we begrudgingly have to play a couple of anti-marquee home games at Marvel (sometimes it's the oppositions home ground too).

But it's invariable that your home game against us is at the G. It ain't our choice!! It's someone's (either the AFL or yours!), so direct your energy there.

Just cut the whinging when it's finals time, because you demanding a GMHBA final against us is about is ridiculous and unreasonable as the Hawks demanding a home final at the Uni of Tas stadium in Launceston......or Glenferrie Oval!!

play the game at either kardinia and if thats not possible (it is) then play at least docklands.

Never going to happen

The AFL will play the game wherever theyre going to maximise ticket sales in the current circumstances, and that which satisfies their agreement with the MCC

I hear you, by and large I don't think majority is whinging, I'm certainly not if you see my earlier post calling OP out for a dumb thread. It's a loud minority. Sure it'd be nice to play home finals at home or at a neutral venue but it's always been this way and the best teams win anywhere.

Fair enough Woj!

Don't the cats make 20 Million profit every home game. Never mind that the 40K people are mostly members and ticket prices are $50

Oh you're right sorry, lucky us getting more games at MCG. I feel pretty bad about it, how about we give those MCG games to you?

It's all good, I get it now.

So we finished 1st and earned the right to play at the MCG again (pretty lucky right, I know) and Collingwood finished 4th and earned that right to play at the MCG. Soooo not much point finishing 1st.....so rather than play a home and away season and winning games to earn the right to play at the MCG, let's just get rid of the ladder, skip straight to finals, everyone plays at the G and if you lose you're out.
It’s true you get such advantages, good luck to you well done. But don’t piss and moan when you have play at the MCG, poor you.

Cos we arent a melbourne team. We are from geelong. Is this really where the debate is going? Pretending that geelong and all its fans and players are from melbourne.

Well if it’s all too hard, go and join the Geelong and district league or the Colac league then you’ll never have to come to the ‘G ever again.

Seeds you're an embarassment. What a stupid thread, if any year was the year to complain, it isn't the year when KP's capacity is down to about 20k because an entire stand is gone.
so the capacity is still higher then gws stadium when they played a prelim in sydney even though much bigger stadiums were available in their home city.

and there are no bigger stadiums available in our home city. None.

except it already has happened. Gws vs bulldogs prelim final would of got over 30 thousand. But instead they played it at the smaller stadium with less ticket sales even though a bigger stadium was available just 30 minutes away.

Will never happen on a finals match between Geelong and Collingwood unless there's some unforseen circumstance that prevents the game from being played at the MCG

The perpetual victimhood complex of some Cats fans is astonishing!
Cos we are perpetually victims. Thats why. You speak about that label as if its automatically a bad thing. But its not if its actually true.

can we stop with all the distracting posts and actually respond to the point at hand. not one post that ive read has tried to claim its not unfair that geelong plays home finals at the mcgs against mcg tenants. Give a valid argument?

victim blaming, tradition, crowd sizes are not valid arguments.
