Cats always have most advantageous fixture of any team.

Lucky to be the only Vic team who retained their home ground, so have a huge advantage at CatPark for 9 games.

But then also lucky to be as familiar with the G as the likes of Essendon, Carlton supposed co-tenants.

Cats dont sell home games to others states like majority of Melbourne teams, or be forced to play home games at the redundant Marvel stadium.

But they dont do it, and hence advantaged on-field as a result.

Non vic teams have the offset of plane travel, hotels for their 10 away games.

Geelong best of both worlds, the gome ground fortress of a non-vic team, minimal interstate travel and as familiar with the G as a co-tenant.

Personally I’m fine when the ground isn’t under construction for the cats to play their finals at KP. I also don’t want them touching the G unless they’re playing us, pies, hawks and the tigers away. So all those trans have to travel to KP like we do during the season.
Would help me feel we’ve got a real home ground advantage if they only get to play the ground 2-4 times a year. Feels like they get best of both worlds at the moment, their own home ground and plenty at the G each year.

Yeah that is part of the reason they have been in the top 4 for like 15 years. Imagine if Freo got to keep our homeground and then play as much on the MCG as the cats instead of 1 or 0 times per year

This is just plain wrong. geelong have the worst draw. The only people who think geelong have the best are people who only look at home games and ignore away games. melbourne teams have a heap of away games that are essentially neutral games. Geelongs away games are all actual away games. No neutral ones. Plus some of our home games are even away games.

and many of them also get 3-6 away games at their home ground. Geelong gets zero away games at our home.

Last lot of figures published they had 12K members compared with 4k for the Cats.

What makes a mockery of the competition is the fact that you have such a huge advantage playing on your narrow s**t heap. You can strangle teams who are not used to its dimensions. You have a unique situation. Collingwood share their "home" ground with a number of other teams and you get to play there often. You haven't struggled there during the past 15 years have you?

It's not viable to play a final this year in Geelong. Capacity will be 40K or thereabouts when construction is complete.

Seventh finals match up with one another since 2007. Split 4-2 in Geelong’s favour.
