So I gather being moved on by Kingsley. Perfect fit then, a footy bloke who needs a job and will be happy to not upset Ken.

Who knows if Solomon was here talking to us, but he is another one of the widely regarded assistants from only a couple of years ago who dropped off the landscape.

He interviewed for the Freo and Gold Coast jobs, and was sacked by Gold Coast after Dew's appointment in a surprise move. Rumours abounded Dew felt threatened by Solomon's popularity with players and his football knowledge. Who knows?

He was only at GWS as a part time assistant helping out a few Bomber mates. No great surprise he didn't stick around.

If old mate Ken is popular with players - make him club mentor/sounding board/father confessor to them all.
They can then receive all the kumbaiya tlc they need from him to feel good in that over-arching role.
Would be the classic case of placing people in their best suited positions.

Meanwhile, install a new head coach with a fresh voice, a high level of current intel and strategic nouse, an up to date sustainable game plan(s), a winning is everything mentality, and a brutal ruthlessness to succeed whereby he takes losses personally and impels his playing group to do likewise.

Win:win scenario.

I do not see the big deal about Assistant Coaches. Solomon or even King David himself will not make an iota of difference while Hinkley is at the helm. Hinkley's game plan has crept through Alberton like a cancer. The Port Magpies and now even the women play the same stupid possession based bomb it in to the forwards game plan.

Hopefully this year is simply a holding pattern and next year a new Coach will sort out the Assistants he wants.

Truck unlikely to dare question anything or anyone at the Club, much less King Ken, so a safe choice there

Would assume someone like Solomom would be too much of a threat to the King, vis-a-vis Schoey.
