Clark isn’t wanting to leave. But is willing to explore a fresh start.

We aren’t wanting Clark to go and see him as a required player. But if the right offer was in front of us. It would be considered.

Fresh start? If i was advising him i'd be saying what happened to you the last 2 years could happen anywhere. This isn't a soft tissue problem that he/we can't get him right and therefore he needs a fresh start. Its impact and collision injuries. You don't get rid of elite talent or even explore, especially when your list currently lacks elite players. Outside looking in on Clark needs to take his body to another level. If he get a fair run at it i have no doubt he'll be a consistent A grader for us.

and we're dumb for entertaining the thought of trading him. What are we gonna get back some BS second round pick that we get and hope to turn into a player like Clark. His only problems at this stage have been getting injured at bad times. In 2020 in the finals series he was close to our best player. Only poorly run list management teams would get rid of him. SMH

So essentially, if a team were interested enough to pay overs for Clark that deal could realistically happen.

Otherwise, Clark’s happy and business as usual?

Happy with either outcome (would have to be overs though), but I do rate Clark and think he’s a quality player with some unique attributes. Just needs a full season now.

exactly - pay overs or he stays

I largely reacted the same way you both have. So when I flicked out a few messages I was told a top 10 pick.

I could potentially live with that.

We actually gave up 10 Acres, Bruce and some junk for Paddy, Hill, Jones, Butler, and Doogs, but carry on.
Imagine being in a time machine? Next weeks tattslotto numbers please?
6, Acres, Bruce and some junk picks

The only bad one out of them is Hill

If we had a time.machine we'd keep 6 and find another way to get Howard in.

But it is what it is

Would love Hunts to stay, but he needs to spend all off season working on his tank. If he can’t go through the middle next year he’s a bit of a wasted talent
I'm not sure his tank is as big of an issue as what is made out.

He definitely looked off the pace a bit this year but that's understandable considering how much footy he missed.

In 2020 he covered more ground on average than any player on our list.

He needs to strengthen his upper body and work on his effort when we don't have the footy, but I think we'd be making a mistake trading him and I'd have him doing a full pre season with the mids and playing him in there for at least the practice matches.

He has looked good every time he has had the opportunity to play in there.

If both North and Suns are keen on Long, hopefully that ends up in a reasonable trade return for a player who may not be starting 22 next year.
If Hill Long Clark all left.

+ Hanners Ryder Geary Joyce Kent Kyle

With rumours on NWM Jones Bytel Byrnes.

That is a significant change over.

So turned pick 6 and a developing player with potential, Josh Bruce our best forward, Stuv and a handful of other picks into some GOPs. Imagine going to the draft and doing shit the right way and then going to trade in the few missing pieces.

Even in its entirety it's a bad trade period. None of those players are in our best 5 players. Having heaps of GOP ws never an issue for us. Finding elite talent was. We are no closer to that and all of those players are replaceable.

You don't need to be Nostradamus to know we were terrible at drafting and we tried to trade our way out of it instead.

Imagine going to the draft and blowing the pick, then over paying Bruce for more average football.

Works both ways.

It's only good if you get overs though. If Long is only getting a third or fourth round pick it's unlikely to be an upgrade. Clark is as low in value as he's ever going to be. If he's not getting a high pick you'd be better to hold him and hope he gets a run at it.
Maybe he needs some more sunshine up on the GC with Longy.
Could always roll a combo player plus future 🤷🏼‍♂️ for one of their first rnd pics.

Bruce was getting overpaid because he was one of the few performing. We are paying heaps more for Hill who offers even less. They have to get serious. One day they'll realise that you pay to get the best recruiters and do a proper list strategy with an experienced operator.
