Furthest I’d go for Henry is 25 + 33 for Henry+ 41.

Effectively it’s:

Henry + 41 for Esava +38 + 48 + 55 + FR2 (32ish) + FR4 (60ish)

Hmmmm. It’s already a lot.

I’d walk away if that isn’t agreed.

38 will be 40 this year (not gonna go through all the bids that come back in because there'stoo much lol), so it's 32, 40 + Sav for Henry and 43. 48, 55 and FR4 (which would be 70 not 60 and wouldn't get used either).

43 pretty much cancels out 40, so then it's 32 and Sav for Henry - which I can deal with. I know it seems like a lot, but this draft will be lucky to have 50 picks, let alone 60, so it's not bad when you consider 3 of those picks as utterly worthless to us.

Also, if it does work out how we think it might, then Bowes comes for a Future 3rd. So if we'd given Brisbane a Future 3rd in that trade and then GC a Future 2nd, it works out the same...as long as we only have to give up that 3rd.

Essentially, even if we didn't get back 41, our total outlay of usable picks would be:

Pick 18
Pick 33 (Sav)
Pick 38
Future 2nd (32ish)
Future 3rd (50ish)

For:

Pick 7
Bruhn (Former Pick 12)
Bowes (Former Pick 10
O. Henry (Former Pick 17)

Picks 18, 33, 38, 32, 50 would be needed to get up to Pick 7 alone, IMO. The other 3 would then be essentially free. That's the whole picture for mine, and why I originally suggested giving the Pies the Sav compo, to get the deal over the line. If we got Pick 41 back, it gets even more positive- but I ultimately don't think it's necessary, IMO.

Add in possibly getting McKenna free, and as I've said a few times throughout this thread, we come out so far ahead it's ridiculous, lol

I don’t understand why we would have dealt for #25 unless we had a commitment from Collingwood that it would be part of a deal for Henry. It seemed like a terrible deal on face value unless we had a specific purpose for #25.
If Collingwood had stated that at least 25 would be needed to get the deal done and have subsequently reneged then that's not going to sit well with our recruiters.

If a bit more grease is required, then throw in 58... that it reasonable and perfectly adequate.

YOUNG PIE'S GEELONG HOPES IN LIMBO

A STALEMATE remains on Collingwood youngster Ollie Henry's request to be traded to Geelong, with the Magpies rejecting the Cats' offer of pick 25.

The Cats traded five draft selections to Brisbane last week for No.25 to on-trade for Henry but the Magpies didn't accept the deal.

It leaves things at an impasse with two days left before the Wednesday night trade deadline, with the Magpies having been adamant they would be looking for a first-round pick if Henry was to depart.

The Cats aren't able to trade their future first-round pick in a deal given the club has already traded its future second-round pick and also is set to deal its future third-rounder for Gold Coast's Jack Bowes.

Geelong had knocked back Collingwood's counter that would have seen it swap pick No.7 (that it is set to get for Bowes) for Henry and pick No.16 with a mix of other picks thrown in.

Henry was a first-round pick two years ago and played 15 games this season, booting 21 goals. He was drafted from the Geelong Falcons and trained at the Cats in his draft season alongside older brother, premiership player Jack Henry. – Callum Twomey
I love all these bullshit stories from journos who think they are in the know, nobody has any clue about whats been discussed for Henry, they are just following ******* Rendell and all his crap. If the deal doesnt get done then its not on Geelong its all Collingwood, if we made an offer and they rejected then tough t***ies, they can deal with having an unhappy player on the books

I rate him and he fills a list need so id like it but i think its more likely we pair clark with our other falcons boys if hawthorn let him through to us.

We like numbers. Gibney ticked the boxes .. WC have 8 now ... If I were them Id come to us , and offer 12 and a fr2 for 7. If Clark goes to Haw that would be tempting.. Odds are that would be in the 20's next year .. and we know that wc will take 2 WA player in draft The Dogs trade 1 to Freo. ... That probably sees Gibney. Hewitt , Bussinling all go

... so it would then get down to who we like in that next group.

Depends on how we rate them but ... but Hollands, , Hotton etc ..

state combine ...our fatehr son did OK

Did I hear Rendell say today that Sav was worth a pick in the twenties, maybe even higher? Faaark me where do we do that trade!!!

2 very late r2s and 2 late r3s but yes.
Also depends what we get back as change from 25 + 33 (if we did that).

No matter what we paid it will get down to how he plays and copes at Geelong... Its like Yabby Jeans pair of shoes...

Yes we forked out a lot of little bits to make the deal but in the end if we made it work out. ...it will only be next years draft that we will really know how we went.

Talk on Trade Radio that Hamling to Geelong is getting some momentum.

Maybe yes, maybe no... Would cost us not much.

Wait and see but either way it's not a big trade.

Talk is louder than whispers, but I'll only believe it when it is being shouted

Does we seen him a box of scotch or something.... seems like he is batting for us today.

Does matter . I think we will not cave.. we will tactically lubricate the deal to ensure a favourable outcome... Definitely not a cave
I reckon it might be a bottle short. :)

Not to burst any bubbles, but not many get drafted from the state combine. If you're not making it to the national combine you're probably not much chop.
