The problem is that Fagan has ZERO courage at selection table. Hipwood and McCarthy need to earn their spots. Daniher seems to be able to do as he likes, Payne has one if the lowest football IQ’s going around - all of them will be selected next week.

What frustrates me is that i believe we have a team loaded with talent entering its prime and you simply wouldn't know that by looking at how we play. These opportunities to compete for premierships don't come around very often and they are gone before you know it.

I think you give blokes a chance. Pick the team on form. It is an old fashioned concept, I know, but it works.

Prior and Robertson should be in the seniors. Ah Chee when he is right comes in. Mathieson will give 200% and should be included. It is glaringly obvious that we need a backline coach on the field and I would get Lester into this side ASAP.

Fagan specialises in picking sides that ‘look good on paper’ but he is an abject failure at building team culture.

Watching the 2's today the ones capable of playing Senior footy to a reasonable standard are Lyons, Ah Chee, Dev and Prior... not wrapping any of the others.

So we need to find a way of restructuring and getting more out of the 'stars' we have in there . Somehow.

Thought in the final vs Melbourne we really found a new level but it appears we can only go there sometimes. Difference between best and worst footy is bigger than other top 4 contenders.

I'm just watching the first quarter again and it's the PA game all over. Except the Dogs weren't as good as them.

We were a bit lacking intensity from the start and tbh we didn't pick it up all night , even in the last quarter when we could've run away with it with a bit of system and a lot more effort.

I'd actually give Prior a run as a replacement for Linc even though he's a bigger unit. I reckon he would add defensive pressure to the forward line hands down.

After watching todays reserves none of Prior, Lester or Ah Chee deserve to be picked solely on form.

I'd say it's greater than most teams in general. We have the capability to look like a top 2 team one week and then a bottom 2 team the next.

That's what we get when the team runs off emotion to win games - drained or tired performances the week after. I hate saying this, but right now I just don't trust us at all.

They are four players who need to be in the seniors. Wilmot did some nice things tonight and I know he’s just a kid, but he really struggled with decision making and moving the ball on. The thing is, it is not his fault. Every senior player out there tonight with the exception of Neale refused to show leadership. Blokes were simply playing for themselves. Where is this team’s Gary Wilson or Paul Roos or Michael Voss or Jono Brown?

I'd get Ah Chee into the forward half straight away. I just can't see how we can continue to play Hipwood. Right now he's a liability.

Bailey's been half on the nose for a while . I don't buy that he's not trying hard enough , whether it's a confidence thing or just not having a clear role who knows.

Joe does some good things but having a ping when it would've been a simple over the top to Charlie was just about it for me. That could've given us a bit of hope.

Missed today’s. The week before Matho got leather poisoning. How on earth is Answerth getting a game before Mathieson.

The alternative is to drop an Ashcroft or Berry and move him onto a wing. Wilmot and Coleman (albeit tonight not great) seem to be our strongest half backs with Rich.

What I didn't like in particular was the lack of desperation from certain players in the last quarter and the give up mentality when we had it locked in our forward line and just let them run it out with no defensive pressure or even run to pick up their guy who kept running.

Our current forward structure sucks. Hipwood doesn't seem to know what his role is. Get a couple of hard nuts in there.

I now plenty disagrred with me a few weeks ago, but i still maintain we got rid of the wrong KPF in not matching McStay - I mean if Hippy is on $600K+ or more and Joe on $750K+then Dan was easily worth it - Hippy and Joe are just to way inconsistent and unless we are winning or beating up a bottom 6 tea m are barely sighted.

Would Joe be worth much on the trade table?

…and Rich is cooked. Slow and provides an opportunity for teams to play through his opponent

Mckenna was one of our best players tonight. In fact in our best for 3 weeks. Most metres gained for the team buy a considerable margin.
