Autopsy 2023 Rd 8 Mediocre Blues gone after Quarter time

We are a lower end of the 8 team at best with our current team.
Brisbane are a top 4 side and we got beaten by a better side.
Some days we will play to our absolute ceiling and beat any team.
What we need to except is that we need to find our best combination and with some injury luck play the same 26 or so players for a couple of seasons, as we move up the ladder.
Enjoy the ride cos no matter what we will win some and lose some.

He butchered the ball almost every time he got it and dropped a whole heap of marks. Tries his heart out no doubt but he is simply not good enough.

..........except when he lit it up in the first qtr, hit up targets coming at him in F50. Makes huge smothers, out rucks Pitto against a much taller Oscar, plays an on ball role as an old fashioned ruck rover, runs from fwd pocket to back pocket to assist in saving goals, uses his smarts to bring others into the game, kicks a goal a game on everage (vale Dame E)...except for those things he just is not up to it, I agree.

JSOS never gives up. That’s literally his best quality. Has footy smarts. But he’s slow, treacle slow. He double grabs or drops everything. He’s a third tall forward, his main job is to mark the footy. He’s absolutely not the only player in the firing line but if we are fair dinkum we need to move past him.

His disposal tonight was terrible. He hasn't improved one iota since 5 years ago. Has so many glaring weaknesses in his game that he needs to be dropped. Trying is good but too many holes

A little perspective is required tonight - we’re all disappointed - but as I said look at the positives tonight - great game by Cerra to pick up some other midfield slack and Acres knocked up getting possessions - 33 of them at 75%.

As I said previously we’re playing a top four side and only lift by four goals - there is lots to work with - a few adjustments here and there and we’ll be fine.

No one with any judgment is interested in your Pollyanna take on the this game or the team generally. Do you not realize that there are fundamental problems of talent and applied ability with this current team and the list?

If Curnow or McKay don't carry we don't win. Too many passengers in our forward line that aren't consistent goalkickers and its been like this forever. Enough is enough. Play Mcgovern forward. A genuine 3rd goalkicking forward that actually complements the twin towers.

He took 5 marks (same as Harry, one less than Charlie) and had a disposal efficiency of about 70%. I know JSOS is the new whipping boy around here, but singling him out for criticism this week is a bit ridiculous.
