He has, he has chosen not to until he gets to see all the statements , medical records , emails etc of the accusers. From a guy who says he is completely innocent this is odd.

He could have spoken to the allegations directly at anytime , lawyers by his side and fully briefed. He could have spoke about the highlighted meetings directly and given his account of what occurred on those days from his perspective And offer context from his point of view.
If he is completely innocent he should have been busting to get his side of the story to the investigators.
He has let the fire smoulder and here we are today, fire appliances everywhere . Saying I am not guilty of any of the accusations does not cut it.

As a bystander with no skin in the game it makes me wonder that the basic story told by the accusers happened.

You know they all signed confidentiality agreements before they entered mediation.
Something it seems the ex players and coaches adhered too.
The panel not so much, how was this process meant to move forward with good faith?

Anyone else get the feeling Clarko went on "leave" because a media outlet (most probably the ABC) is about to drop something further on the Hawthorn Indigenous Players and Partners allegations?

Think about it. The timing of the story dropping first time around was in Grand Final week, wasn't it?

If you're doing this type of story and it involves Indigenous persons, when is the next time the story could have maximum impact? Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

My gut feeling (and that's all that is), is a media outlet has a story with potentially fresh allegations or new evidence, has potentially gone to Clarko or North or Hawthorn or the AFL yesterday with something like "we have XYZ, and a list of questions. You have x amount of hours to respond, as we intend to publish by x date".

Clarko/North/Hawks/AFL/whoever have had a conference call about potential media outlet and what they potentially may have, then decided it's best for Clarko to go on "leave", then let the story drop, and then have Clarko forced to answer (or dodge) potential questions from the press pack, and/or North then forced to either stand down or fire Clarko or stand-by a new wave of whatever the press might be potentially reporting.

Nice fantasy there. Maybe you should stop daydreaming and just concentrate on the few actual facts that are out there.

On one hand, it could be a way of him not being publicly found guilty and this is a way to serve his suspension without that stain. On the other, it could be that he is struggling with the pressure of coaching while having this thing hanging over his head. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle, and I lean more towards the former. I also think it stinks happening on the weekend when we celebrate Aboriginal Australia's contribution to footy, and Aboriginal Australia celebrate the feelings of pride and joy that footy has brought them.

If he's as guilty as some people say then his former players will be cheering that this has happened and they'll be rapt it happened in the lead up to this round compared with if he was still coaching.

Was Ziebells dog supposely Clarko told him a few times to get that f**king dog out of here and both were arguing that security had to be involved.
