Melbourne not sleeping in their own bed for a week has to take its toll

Still reckon we lose another close one.... We just don't know how to win those types of games and are always coming from behind because we fluffed around with it earlier

Gonna save myself the frustration by not watching this game. If we win i will take a look i'm not expecting to see the game. Hopefully the players throw nicks gameplan in the bin.

Three unforced changes is a statement of sorts, I guess.

Matching up the ins and outs, I guess it's something like:

Borlase -> Butts (obvious)
Milera/Sholl -> Nankervis/Parnell
Murphy/Pedlar -> Berry/Cook

Presumably the replacements for Murphy and Milera will be in for some time, but it's not clear to me which two players they are. Is Nankervis taking a rebounding defender role or a wing role? Is Berry going to spend much time up forward or just play in the guts? Hard to say.

Anyway, time for our annual "least watchable game of the season" loss to Melbourne :(

Going because I spent the money weeks ago and I don’t get to see many games these days.
Feels like it’s going to be polar opposite to this time last year when we belted the blues.
I’m expecting about a 5 goal loss.

Really feel for Dowling, how Nicks can honestly talk to him and tell him he’s missed out, but the same time bring in Berry who’s done nothing since being dropped and Parnell, who imo, has never shown anything at AFL level.
He’s thinking what’s the point in playing well in the SANFL when you’ve got the AFL side who 3/4 are dreadfully out of form.
Selection integrity, what now?

Berry and Parnell are the 2 that confuse me.
Borlase was always keeping the seat warm for Butts (no pun intended). Berry is not a forward and I cannot see how he can be in the same team as Crouch and Laird. He also hasn’t played since being dropped.
Parnell is just too small.

We need to see what Cook can bring but I feel this was time for a statement from Nicks re Dowling… you play well and you come in, you play poor and you’re out… ie maintaining a standard.

Same old, same old from Nicks, the underperforming seniors remain while the kids chop in and out.

Boring game plan, vanilla midfield, odd unbalanced selection policy. The squad peaked under him last year and we are now in freefall without a competent pilot at the helm. It’s going to get ugly.

May and Lever to take 45 marks between them
May having 14 odd days between getting his ribs broken and cartilage damage, i will be pissed if he drops into the hole and no one puts a knee into them within the first 15min, even better someone "accidently" puts a shoulder into them before the first bounce

The only thing giving me hope is remembering that "ring the bell" match a couple years ago when absolutely nobody thought we could beat them and we got over the line by a point or something, with Murray (or was it Doedee?) getting away with the most obvious deliberate you've ever seen in your life in the last few seconds.

Geez, I hope it's not more unmatchable than last week's game...

Are you ready to be f***ed?!?!

Don't do it to yourself....

Stop hoping for the win. That's how they get you.

Resign yourself to the fact we continue to be a rabble and will not achieve any level of success with the back the boys club in control.

Once you've made peace with that, you'll lead a much happier life.

Welcome to my TEDtalk.
