Battle of the Blood Oranges?

I don’t know - there’s just nothing that really works.

Battle of the Bridge certainly doesn’t.

If they have to do something why not have the Clearing House Cup… opera hose to bathed in red and white or orange?

Why do NSW people hate it with a loathing passion? I find it silly since there's no bridge but I don't 'loath' it.
Because it's trying to separate Sydney & the teams fans by the ANZAC Bridge. Which is null. It also tries to make it seem like the Swans are the silvertails & GWS the 'battlers' from out West. When is not the truth, let's not forget the Canberra games they play..

Add to the fact some w***er from down South actually coined the idea and that makes it even worse.

Such strong language for a lady. Even if they're a w***er. He must be a landlord also.

From The Age:

Crows chief executive Tim Silvers has told anyone who will listen that they plan to be hyper-aggressive in the player movement space, illustrated in their willingness for Errol Gulden to tell them the length of contract he needed to jump ship.
The sole free agent Adelaide signed since Eddie Betts 11 years ago was delisted former Lion Mitch Hinge, so they are well overdue to make a splash there, although they did lure Jordan Dawson and Izak Rankine home in trades.
Sydney restricted free agent Will Hayward, from North Adelaide, looms as the obvious pivot now that Gulden stayed put for four more years, taking the All-Australian midfielder to free agency in 2028.
The question for the Crows is whether the Swan, largely a role player in red and white, is worth ponying up big money for. Sydney were displeased with their trade compensation for Dawson three years ago. lolololol
They can pay for two players thank you very much, or pay Haywood way more than he is worth

Those that hate it so much need to build a bridge..

I'm no fan either...there's only 2 sides in NSW so call it The Sydney Derby. Brett Kirk Cup works for me too as it has as a non-Giants ring to it.

It's Vic that should be coming up with stupid titles for all their intra-states matches, as there's a derby or 3 a week there in this even comp.

And Geelong is premiership favourite because of its results:

Round 1 St Kilda by 8 points
Round 2 Adelaide by 19
Round 3 Hawthorn by 36
Round 4 Bulldogs by 4
Round 5 lolNorth by 75
Round 6 Brisbane by 26 in a monsoon
Round 7 Carlton by 13 at Kardinia Park

Round 7 was at at the G in fairness, although a Cats home game
I know, coz I was there - cracker of a game although goddamn I hate watching Cats win on the G!:fearscream::sob:

coz it's manufactured, based on a hackneyed image of sydney perpetuated largely outside sydney
and it's meaningless
the adelaide teams get "showdown" and in the west it's "the derby"
i don't really care, but seeing as it is gonna be promoted anyway, i'd just prefer something more imaginative and worthy of the contest (particularly today's)

You're explaining something to me despite agreeing with me. As you say, you don't really care. My question was about who these supposed NSWers are who 'loathe' it.

Awaiting media to claim we were lucky today and we aren't in the top 4 teams still

To be fair Green going down early did swing the game massively, we dominated the midfield after that.

I think King is right - but for the wrong reasons. I don't think Longmire has questions about whether Parker is in our best 23 (though I could be proved wrong). He (Longmire) was explicit in his team selection video that Parker has been out for 9 weeks, and he wants to make sure he (Parker) has the right fitness base before he comes back into the team so that he can be a strong contributor for the rest of the season.

Rampe, on the other hand, has only missed three weeks.

That said, I won't be surprised if Parker is a late switch into the team for all the reasons we've already discussed.

Another factor with Parker is that he spent a fair chunk of the pre-season training away from the main group. All through December and January he spent time running laps and other stuff on the sidelines.

Why do NSW people hate it with a loathing passion? I find it silly since there's no bridge but I don't 'loath' it.

I loathe it because:

* it's a cringey creation of Uncle Kevin

* it's unclear what bridge it's meant to refer to. You'd think it would be the Sydney Harbour Bridge but apparently it's meant to be the ANZAC Bridge. Why? Who knows.

* It insinuates that Swans fans lie on one side of the bridge and thus disenfranchises the Swans fans who are on the other side and, since we were the only team in town until the upstarts came along, our fans are spread across Sydney, NSW and Australia and I resent any attempt to shoehorn us into some smaller compartment.

Yet our best defender went down and they couldn't capitlise
Yeah I reckon conditions might have helped a bit there don't you think?
