Shorty has been a very good player in the past... The drop off this year is very alarming though

bit off topic but whats the go with those tiny chainsaws at bunnings like what do you use them for? feels like if you need to pull out a chainsaw youve got a serious task at hand not shortening your chopsticks. like buying a massive pair of scissors, it just seems silly.

Senior players the worst offenders Zero game plan after half time.
All season we have been insipid in the first 10 minutes after half time. Didn't move the ball or take the game on ...

Spent the whole second half trying to save the game ... Even when we got behind we couldn't stop playing like we had a three goal lead we where trying to protect ...

Cats adjusted and took away the corridor after half time. With our lack of marking power it became a hard slog to get moving.

If our midfield hadn’t faded so badly we might have been able to retain some control but that’s the problem with too many kids.

Miller and Ryan both went a lot harder at it this week. Miller in particular has had a pretty decent stretch of form.

We would never have predicted that Lefau would be our only avenue to goal at the start of the season.

How does Pickett keep getting picked? How?

For players averaging 14+ disposals, here is the disposal / clanger ratio of the worst in the league:

Briggs : 2.9 disposals per clangers
** Pickett: 3.1
Grundy: 3.1
Xerri: 3.1
Nank: 3.3
Simpkin: 3.8
Greene: 4.1
Marshall: 4.2

And this does not include tonight where he racked up an eye watering 10 x clangers from just 16 disposals. See how the others in that really rank rating are ruckmen? He laid zero tackles.

His soft shoe shuffle stupidity changed all momentum in tonight’s game. He constantly does stupid sh*t. I know we’ve got nobody else, but if he gets a contract next year that’ll just about do me.

He has been a really poor AFL player for 2+ seasons now and I’m deadset sick of it.

Overall a great performance considering our best 5 x mids and another 4 best-23 were out. At the cheat’s ground with Cats missing a handful of their best. Cant fault the effort, just ran out of juice which is not surprising.

So Pickett injured too. What the conditioning team have done to this club is horrendous and every supporter should be asking questions as to what the actual **** is going on.

Excellent first half, huge tick for Yze from me.
The main disappointment was conceding the two extremely late goals at the end of both quarters which flattered Geelongs score line a tad.
The three gettable set shot misses from Campbell, Sonsie and Macaulife hurt. If we buried at least 2 of them we really could’ve had a healthy lead at half time.

Naturally we were going to run out of steam and we barely had it in our forward half in the last qtr. A common trend for a lot of games this year.

Gutted for Lafau. Been an absolute shining light for us this season and competes so well as an undersized forward. The most infuriating thing is it will set him back for 2025 as well.

Just read it appears Lefau has done his knee. Seriously, GF 2024. a rare shining light this season and this happens.
Kids were brave.
Ins: Bolton, Taranto, Prestia, and dunno who else to play key forward and help score.
Outs: Pickett, Lefau, ?

The options are:
Koschitzke comes in to play forward
Blight comes in to play back and Balta goes forward again
Ryan plays full time forward
Gray gets a debut and plays forward

Seriously it's 1 step forward 2 steps back with regards getting our best line up on the park. Still there are benefits that we will gain from it long term.

I agree that someone needs to tell him to not try to be too clever. However he created a goal from a neat sidestep earlier and in the instant where he fell over taking the free kick he obviously realised that Geelong had set up too well for the kick down the line. As for the last to years Pickett has been asked to play wing, inside mid, tagger, ruck, key forward and defensive forward often on much bigger players. Yet he will sacrifice his game and still keep trying
