Well… that’s probably our most disappointing win of the season. Dominated early, first qtr amazing, but the middle of the match was not our best footy by any means. Still happy to get the win, and nice to be complaining about 10 goal leads, but still a bit of a let down. We should’ve flogged them by 100+ after that first qtr, but just let the lead get to our heads and almost cost us big time. Steadied the ship by halfway in the third, and the ending was strong, but need to learn how to fix the second qtr problems quicker. F*cking terrible that Day looks done for the season, fingers crossed for a quick recovery but not sure if it’s worth jeopardising his healing by playing him in finals later on.
On to the positives… Watson was amazing with his pressure and goals, improving every week, I love that kid. Dear outstanding in the forward half along with Gunners, who showed everyone his retirement is a long way off. Chol also playing pretty nice, just needs to learn how to take all the marks he should be. Amon, Impey, Nash, Meek, Newc good in the middle, with only a few mixups and mistakes, which everyone makes occasionally. Sic didn’t have his best game, but was still influential, Scrimma a great intercept marker, Weddle nice with the run as always, Hardwick with some amazing efforts throughout the match.
Feels pretty nice to be sitting 7th, now we just have to hope Carlton don’t flog the Weagles too bad and jump over us in percentage. Nice to see Ariarne Titmus supporting the best club in the league.
Looking forward to next week, need the win to cement finals and build our confidence going into them, pretty good chance, but hopefully we play a bit better than today and whoever replaces Day makes a good impact.
Love this team, can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Dear & Scrimshaw injuries leave a sour taste after a relatively good run. At least we have CJ and Serong but will dip until they return, hopefully we go far enough for at least one.

Weird game, we never really got out of second gear but still won by 10 goals. Sounds like the news in Day isn’t too bad, so bank the win and percentage and move on.
That is massive news - hopefully just a couple of weeks
