Language is amazing “they aren’t going to budge on that”

Ok SOS? You’re the one that is trying to pry him out, why would we accept your first dumb offer?
It's like walking into a new car showroom and dumping $5k on the desk and being like, "Take it or leave it". Managers would laugh you all the way out.

Do were giving away Kennedy for a pick on the 40s.

We traded for him from GWS using pick 27 which they used to draft Sam Taylor.

Interesting play by SOS if it was a fishing expedition with a F2.
Bloody smart, I was living in VIC, interviewed for a job in ACT & moved to QLD 6 months later.
I wasn’t going anywhere until the I saw the ACT job (huge $ increase) but once the seed was planted options opened up
Smart doing what? Is his grand plan to pry loose Matt Cottrell with 3 hours to go? All our stars are signed up long term with TDK on the way. He's fishing for fairy floss.

Blokes a total numpty

I think there's something to this. Throw something out there this year, go hard at it next year (when he's out of contract).

I'm guessing SOS smelled some desperation with our list spot crisis. Kennedy appears to be caught up in the Saints/McCrae/Bulldogs trade, and if that falls over Austin may in fact be desperate to move another like Kemp player out. It might be a smart move from SOS and I can see why Austin may have strung SOS along just in case.

reckon we'd attempt to offload pittonet and sign some other ruck if we absolutely had to find picks, before using kemp for that. or even someone like binns. this is where finding something for martin would have been handy.

This is just such contrived rubbish from the whole industry. How is it we are just hours away from trade deadline, and this offer had just been made and now rejected. This type of offer would of and should of have occurred before the weekend and most likely discussed with the Dogs before the Saints even traded back with Brisbane. Too much theatre and posturing.

Kemp is out of contract next year, the thought of change has to start somewhere

Sam Day to replace Joe ...

Posted this yesterday.

Thought they'd go Membrey.

Day has always had talent in spades if he can keep healthy which he's never been able to do. But the Lions would be well aware of his injury history and probably know how to handle it better than the Suns do.

Best case scenario he stays healthy and their young forwards take a step up and the drop off between Day and Daniher won't mean a thing. Worst case scenario, he gets hurt and Logan Morris is a year or two from taking on that type of responsibility and it costs them a repeat.

But there's logic behind it.

I think he is suggesting it could be a play to secure Kemp next season. Throw a low ball offer out now. Get in Kemp's mind, try and go after him next year when he's out of contract and Kemp may even nominate to go there in time.

This "Deadline Day" rubbish is fabricated faux interest drumming nonsense.

Everyone is sick of the trade period and wants it to hurry up and be over. What's the AFL do instead? Make sure nothing gets announced on the last day until last minute, regardless of when it's agreed to, and everyone get together to make it seem dramatic and interesting.

"Ohhh look it's getting real now! Ross just showed up to Marvel!"

Wow, now I'm hooked! What suspense!

See it in politics all the time. Leadership challenges usually fail the first time, but it sows the seeds of doubt. Six months later, challenge comes again, and leader is out. (Plenty of examples, but I'll keep this party-neutral)

If his grand plan is to get in Kemps ear 12 months early then good luck to him. Not a needle shifter hence why we're happy to entertain a trade if the offer is right.

If it was TDK I'd understand, but Kemp is just a cog in a system.

Certainly wouldn't make the Saints less of a rabble.

Yeah but in SOS' eyes he's a big fish, cos he's one of "his"..

i love SOS's shift from hero to pantomime villain, he's kind of just doing his job though. don't ask the question, never find out.

Don't develop a set of principles, spruik them to anyone who will listen and then don't follow through with them at all.

Hypocrtical and time wasting
