I wonder why neither GC nor Port preferred to deal with North. Their first pick next year should be a good one.

Port got really ripped off, 3 players no where near Houston's current level, Houston was in Port's top 3 best players. The only thing they can rely on is their draft selection as a "possible" future compensation. Port should have tried to get a younger talent like they did in 2022 with Horne Francis through the trade.Nah, I agree with most Port supporters that they were ripped off on this trade.
More intriguing has been the responses of some Blues fans to missing out on Houston & then this battle with Pies over who has the best younger players...
Collingwood definitely won that trade, Port got massively ripped off with their dud picks. Rory Atkins is over the hill, they're not going to get his 2017 performance. The other pick was a super fringe players in their mid 20s with little experience. Lukosius is the only one that's still good, but not at Houston's level. What a beautiful day to be alive.
We got our man Dan, for a fair and reasonable price.
I am torn though, as I have options of what to do with my morning.
Do I have my coffee and scroll through the Collingwood board and enjoy the smiles?
Do I have my coffee and scroll through the Power board and enjoy the tears?
I didn't really care either way if we got Houston but the fact we got to take one of the best players from "that" club, just fills me with joy.
Anyway, it is going to be a great day no matter what![]()
People are forgetting Houston wanted to leave and Port were happy for him to go.
Read into that what you like but Port are more than happy.

Cripps and Davies incompetence doesn't change me being right. Of course he is worth the same as Pickett.
Whilst I agree Collingwood did well from the trade, Port were not massively ripped by the pies.Collingwood definitely won that trade, Port got massively ripped off with their dud picks. That’s perplexing…I assume that they preferred allocating cap space to an A grade all australianI don't get why it wasn't Collingwood who were forced to take Atkins.
Port should have replaced the f1 with an f2. Instead of getting 29, replace with F3.Port got really ripped off, 3 players no where near Houston's current level, Houston was in Port's top 3 best players. no, you said people that think Port would trade him for anything less than 2 firsts needed a reality check. just keeping you accountable to your own comments when the reality was, he was traded for peanuts.Cripps and Davies incompetence doesn't change me being right. Of course he is worth the same as Pickett.
Makes up for getting Horn Francis cheaply Across the two deals they are still ahead I would say.Given what Richmond have gotten/are getting for the likewise contracted Bolton and Rioli, Port did terribly with regards to their return for Houston.

If it's so much cheaper for Lukosius then Port Power didn't do "ok" out of it.Port did 'ok' out of it but could have done so much better keeping deals separate
Lukocious could have been gotten so much cheaper
Richards likewise. F3 territory there
Atkins doesn't count, who cares
Houston could have got 1st + 2nd or something also
They got the players they wanted so it's not a giant fail but could surely have been done way better
I think the AFL intervene behind the scenes on this kind of thing to keep all clubs happy and make sure all players get where they want. It's a laughable system really
Bolton is worth those 2 1st rounders but pick 6 and 23 for Rioli is crazy.Given what Richmond have gotten/are getting for the likewise contracted Bolton and Rioli, Port did terribly with regards to their return for Houston.
Giving 14 for Baker by WC, a team that won't play finals while Baker is on the list, is just irresponsible. Worst deal of the lot of themBolton is worth those 2 1st rounders but pick 6 and 23 for Rioli is crazy.
They need experience players given the players who are about to retire but should have targeted FA players.Giving 14 for Baker by WC, a team that won't play finals while Baker is on the list, is just irresponsible. Worst deal of the lot of them

Honestly I’ve never seen a fan so pleased to see their clubs primary trade target move to an opposition club. Especially weird given that it only happened because of the gross mismanagement of their marquee player.'Houston said on the radio he wasn't going'. Man, the amount of times I heard this from Port fans made me tear my hair out.
yeah, because kissing away precious first rounders for a guy that isn't going to make any difference to winning a flag is a dumb list decision. So I'm super glad we missed out on him. Thanks Trac for being a narcissistic sook!Honestly I’ve never seen a fan so pleased to see their clubs primary trade target move to an opposition club. But yeah it’s a win for Melbourne because Port fans are upset I guess?
When you move to the Magpies after being stuck at the Temu Magpies all your careerThis is so funny to me because he essentially gets to wear the prison bars every match now
Only just occurred to me how the relationship with these clubs has been
Gonna be annoying seeing the pies have a 65m pinpoint kick belting it outside of D50![]()

If you don’t understand the importance of precise ball movement out of the defensive 50 in todays game then you don’t really understand footy at all tbh.yeah, because kissing away precious first rounders for a guy that isn't going to make any difference to winning a flag is a dumb list decision. So Houston brings Pies from a bottom 8 team to 7th? cool.
