Looked like it had a very strong breeze behind it.

Still a decent roost though, but let's see what he does in calm conditions before getting too excited.

On general, after being the slowest team for a few years we seem to have recruited a bit of pace. Others may burn us still, especially through the middle, but at least we now look to have a bit of pace out of the backline and on the wings.

Yes favouring that end however was extremely blowing right by that quarter so was an excellent kick.

The side of the ground both teams moved the ball down in the first two quarters is the dead side. Hence the amount of points the Tin rattlers kicked. in the first two quarters.

The breeze went across the ground in the second half making the dead side the best side unusual for that oval you could see it in Ryan's goal late where he used the breeze.

It also makes Archer's kick at the other end where he hit the post very good. Because he was a fair way out and only just missed.

Exactly what I wrote when we first recruited him.kicks 50 not 40 and I also think if we threw him into the equation as a pressure forward he would be first picked!

One of the most pleasing things is that the team embraced the attacking philosophy. Also, getting well beaten in the stats but coming away with the win will give them great confidence in the game plan.

The team struggled last year to get Simmo's game plan to work. Looks like we are ahead in that respect already. Exciting times.

If he could even get a single touch with four VFL no hopers holding his jumper all day, I’d be astonished.

Throwing numbers behind the ball was less about winning this game than it was getting practice at protecting a game for when it does count

In the Richmond scrimmage we used a similar setup at the end of the 2nd period to practice a game killing scenario even though it wasn’t the end of the game and nor was it close

Good experience to get in a game where ****ing it up has no consequences

Frustrating to see Harley casually jog around applying very little pressure at times. Imagine what a player he would be with Reuben's training standards

You are so dumb. Watch him in the real stuff. I’ve been over this. Some of the games most naturally talented players cruised around every session and pre-season. Dusty, Cyril being some notables. Harley is a competitive animal and has gears very few have that means when it’s game day, look out.

Some other players less gifted need to work far harder and reap the rewards of that application. Bloody love Reuben for it, but just different players completely. Not worried about Harley when the season starts up in the slightest

I believe 7 clangers (4 turnovers, 3 frees against) from 6 touches with zero tackles has a bit to do with the hysteria, given he's one of the most popular SC rookies this year.

Weird because I actually thought he was much better than his stats suggest. Solid game.

On another note Harleys reported stats are laughable. He's credited with 0 turnovers when we all literally watched him turn it directly over by hand twice in 10 seconds. Not sure how that works.

Pav was keeping the stats while commentating.

Hough , cole , Baker and ginbey play small medium defenders

Edwards and gov play tall and maric 3rd tall

Hough and Gunbey both have shown form playing on taller opponents and both only a few cms shorter that Maric. At this stage it doesn’t seem like Maric doesn’t have a solid defensive side of his game
