Dunno if it's been mentioned but I thought Swannys job on Prespakis tonight was outstanding.

Georgie was getting agro trying to fight through it and to her credit kept trying. Terrific guts from Swanny and this is what you want from your older heads being able to play a role. Daisy just gets it. What a terrific coach honestly

How good following this side this year. Can’t believe finals could be the icing on the cake. What a massive effort from a young and quickly emerging group

This is why the AFLW's more fun than AFL for me. You'll never see an AFL team improve this much in a season. AFLW is giving you total transformations from year to year, there's so many development stories to follow. The next five years especially will see that continue, and it might not even level off for another ten years.

For your repeated viewing pleasure.

She had one, I think it was last week and it didn’t really get noticed because it was a behind - she was at least 50m out along the boundary and kicked it through for a behind. It didn’t even look like she put that much into the kick (similar to this one). She’s gotta be the longest kick on the team.

I thought Cleaver got beaten in the air by being worked under the ball a lot tonight.

But then she recovered so fast and got back into the contest and more often than not won the footy back. A serious effort.

Rentsch a bit quieter tonight but Roxy brought the muscle to the party.

Any word on Hooker? Looked like she hit the deck pretty hard and I think she was off for the rest of the game?

Such a fun game to be at - think I prefer Leederville to Min Res Park.

I’m going to forget some here but efforts was particularly impressed with:
  • Swanson’s tagging job - there were times I forgot Prespakis was even playing. Swanson hitting the scoreboard was a nice touch as well.
  • The defence - to keep them to 2 goals (despite Geelong winning the Inside 50s) was incredible.
Rentsch massive on Moloney, ZWakfer and Cleaver regularly halved contests when looking way out of position. Roux with some huge spoils. Thomas with some great distributing as always.
  • Painter and LWakfer. What a huge bonus to have these two constantly looking like clunking marks and using the ball beautifully. Strong argument that Painter was most influential player on the ground with 3 goals.
  • And of course Ella Roberts. Just every week numerous time shows skill so far about the rest of the competition. But as much as anything it’s not just the skill I appreciate with Ella, it’s the tackling, hardness, unrelenting effort - nobody recovers better from a mistake than Ella. Elite.

Yep even though she’s a class above that’s the thing about Ella I love most, she’ll outwork you every single game. Plays like she’s fighting for a list spot that girl. Unbelievable player

Just for the Carlton season closer back at the same venue - how’s the parking situation? Best to just park at Leederville proper and walk down or is there likely spots at like Loftus centre too?

We caught the traino because that is super easy for us but the total crowd was just under 2.5k. Shouldn't be hard to find parking I would have thought.

when the Roos dynasty is over we could seriously be on for the flag with this group

Dynasties can end pretty quickly, we basically couldn't beat Brisbane, they just bullied us physically and ran us into the ground, the grand final loss in 2023 was the driver for us to take our footy to the next level and that was the last game we have lost. There are a number of sides that have troubled us this year, they just couldn't play four quarters and we pretty much put them to the sword late in the game. That can change if sides are really driven to succeed.

Your percentage is 331 😂 wish that there were clubs “troubling” us like that

Feels like it will take a minor miracle for anybody to seriously challenge North this year, let alone beat them.

Don’t mind earnest Roos W fans giving it the fake humble areas, given what their men’s program has put them through, but fair go they’re going to win 400 games in a row and 10 flags before anyone lays a glove on them, barring AFL intervention.

Meanwhile, Ella Slocombe is yet to crack a game 🎯 I reckon it's time we lire the developing sandgropers home 🏠

So you're saying we'll probably have to go the lose to you in a QF then win the GF path to a flag this year
