Yeah i expect we will have competition for country kids once they start winning gamesRecruiters and agents expect Tasmania to try and lure Cats' stars south due to the similarities in environments between Geelong and Hobart and the culture the Devils hope to build. - Josh Gabelich
As for not wanting Bont.
LOL.
And I recently copped a week for supposedly overstepping on something but I'll happily sit back in the next few weeks and chuckle when some jaws drop.
Yeah, it is baffling. 5 years of bont would be a dream scenario for Geelong. It's not baffling. We dont need 30 year olds now. And the cost would be 5 years.
Not one.
It makes sense for him IMO.Awesome news. Only thing I don’t like is it should have been longer.
Yep, that was exactly my thought. It makes sense for him IMO.
Won't be a free agent but will be coming into his prime years.
In 2 years time he could have 4 cats seasons with roughly 40 goals or more, and with some retirements in the next 24 months will then be able to leverage a long deal on great money.
All theoretical but which club would be the most likely to be interested in him. Saints? Pies?
Good to tie them down officially but ultimately SDK would be the only one up in the air for us this year.
Would not be the worst outcome imo. You get some collateral in draft or perhaps gives you room to chase a Rowel level player. One would think the Lions would be willing to discuss terms

I'd say that's not a bad bet to wager based on what I'm hearing.
Was confident a long way out on Bailey Smith and copped some colorful feedback but I'll happily put spare parking meter money on SDK staying and us being right up to our necks with the ginger grass sniffer
It's very interesting to see what trade value JUH be... iv got no idea on what he will bePeople that have better info on that matter then me have said that the club were shopping JUH around last year. So i highly doubt that JUH will be at the dogs next year
I would assume just because of his family that he would prefer to stay I'm vic. So it would be a vic club playing finals that would suit. If I'm the dogs I would chase him they need his type of player and he's local.
Lions don't have the picks to trade unless they get aggressive moving a b22 player out.

The whole player relationship thing within clubs is a bit of a misnomer.
Footy clubs, just like schools or workplaces, are made up of many different personalities and many different clicks. The idea that all 40 blokes on a list are best mates is just fanciful.
As an example - I was talking to a player and asked about Bailey Smith. There's a bit of an age gap, but he said Bailey was a great fella and already well liked - but he was on a completely different wave length and was a bit of a different cat. Doesn't mean they don't get along, but it's unlikely they're going to be holding each others hands and going to see a movie together in their spare time.
I sincerely hope this isn't point scoring over the possible implication of one of our players in a heinous crime - given that's what you were pulled up on last time.
That would be downright narcissistic.
From memory it was making some disparaging comments about the moderators, which is kind of like parking at the courtroom and keying the judge's car.And I recently copped a week for supposedly overstepping on something but I'll happily sit back in the next few weeks and chuckle when some jaws drop.
Yeah, one of the great bullshit lies about footy clubs is that it's "you and 21 of your best mates". Same as anywhere else - you have one or two excellent friends if you're lucky, 10 blokes you get on well with, 8 or 9 who are a bit meh but you make it work, and one you wouldn't piss on if they were on fire. The whole player relationship thing within clubs is a bit of a misnomer.

It's not hard to work out when you know where the private jets park. Are you saying you know where Mods park their cars. Tread carefully
