Lady Brightside accepted for Race 3 at Cranbourne 7.15, FRIDAY night.

Gunna be a challenge what time I can get to the MCG.
I wonder if one of the helicopters Peter Hudson or Brian Peake used are available 🤔

Tough (ish) call. Would be nice to see the nag run around but there are bars and mobile reception at the G.

And playing at the G is so rare for us. We'll only play there 4 times this year.

I see what you did there. :thumbsu:

I have to be there for her debut. Been cursed over the years with injured horses, slow horses and COVID making me miss my only winner.

Doesn't one of the jockeys fly a helicopter to race meetings. That's the one I'd be booking for Friday night🤣

Would be nice, Jamie Mott has the gig though.

He goes OK. Best of luck.

Congratulations.

Missed the race .... saw the result. 💥

It was so exciting, and she still has so far to go in maturing.
Not much behind her but you can only beat what’s there.
Racing.com really got behind the story.

Made it into the MCG with about 5 mins to go in the 2nd qtr, damn having to go into the Winner’s lounge 🤪

Just a shame those 4 ruined a good game, and massively influenced the result.
AFL are so dumb, don’t they realise the feel good story was the Dogs winning.
Ruined what could have been one of the best nights of my life.

AFL don’t realise that its not a feel good story, it umpire the ****ing game correctly and the best team will win

Good luck! Rain forecast. Do we think she'll go alright in the wet? Mr B certainly does.

Thank you. I recall Trent saying in an update a while ago something like he wasn’t worried about a rain affected track. Hey, she’s a Kiwi 😁
Apart from the class rise my main concern is the 5 weeks between runs, she had some muscle soreness after that win.
Anyway it’s all very exciting.

Massive field, 20 acceptors 😱 at least there are 4 emergencies.
Tough field, drawn 17 😭 although three of the emergencies have drawn inside of her so comes in at least 3 barriers. If there’s lots of rain there’d be scratchings you’d think.

Jamie Mott onboard again

A friend of mine is strapping Commemorative in the Sangster Stakes tomorrow, her first G1 strap. I’m so bloody proud of her! She hasn’t been with the stable long. The horse has drawn the carpark but I think it should be right in the mix.

Also have a connection to She’s Got Pizzazz as we have her dam, Missy Cummings, at work. Has drawn well and is in good form so could be right up there too.

Lady Brightside running at Cranbourne tonight race 6.
Trainers very happy with her, but up in class against older more experienced horses.
Also 6 weeks between runs, so 🤞

Darci Brahma will stop her as a race horse.

She was off the bit a very long way out. 6 weeks between runs yeah but Darci could stop a train ... on the track ... but not necessarily in the breeding barn. In fact, he's from pretty good stock which I think will come through in some of his mares as a dam sire.

As a breeding cash cow she will be the gift that doesn't stop giving.

I'd be very inclined to pay the money and send her to a proper horse. Keep a filly and sell the rest.

You're gonna make a sh1tload.

King Harold whadaya reckon is the way forward here. A correct Super Seth progeny would fetch a pretty penny in the ring me thinks.

Maybe agist her at Waikato Stud and just keep going back to the well. Ringa ding ding $$$

Natalie said that the upgrade of the track to a good 3 didn't suit her, needs a soft 5 or worse to let down
Jamie Mott thought she's come to the end of her prep.
Both said that she's nowhere near the finished product and we should have a pretty good mare on our hands.

She went into pre training mid December, then into the stable a month later. She was very sore after her debut win and had a bit of time off. Got her going again then she was supposed to run ANZAC Day, but scratched due to the barrier. Therefore she had 6 weeks between runs as you said, I think that told on her.
So this prep has been almost 5 months.

She looked to be doing it hard trying to keep in touch with the leading three. I also thought she looked reluctant to go through between Stormfront and the 11. From there Jamie just looked after her.

The syndicator's business model seems to be sending their good mares like Aristia, I Am Eloquent, Affaire a Suivre to the broodmare sales, so I'll have no real say in that. They know the market.
I'll always keep an eye on her after that though :D

She will be valuable no matter what, when you have a big brother like she has !
I know what you mean re Darci Brahma , but he is a little underrated.
Sire of 13 group one winners and really a prolific sire of winners.

Just by the by , I have an interest in a relative.
A 2yr old colt by Hello Youmzain, half brother to Mr Clint.
Should be at jump outs 3 or 4 weeks.

Yeah , she looks a nice horse mate.
She was off the bridle early the other night , but never gave it away.
Nothing much to worry about. As you say a nice spell will do her the world of good.

Do they think she may need a little more ground ? 1600+ ?

Anyhow I think you have a fair bit to look forward to before she has any need to become a mum !

I’m thinking 1,600/1,700 will see her out.
