He could step up in big moments and thrived on it, whereas most usually wilt. A bit like why the Big 3 in tennis kept winning even though they each only won around 54% of their total points played. A lot of our senior players in recent times have been the opposite in big moments. Was there at Subi when Bewick kicked 8 goals against the Eagles in Rd 1 1993. Now it looks we could have a serious gift with his son.
He had no right to play like that! He was short! He was a Ranger! Wore a long jumper!, not to mention he had a pale complexion!

He grew up in Melbourne i think so i am hoping that really swings him our way

Very highly rated player both him and Berwick in the draft would be Chiefs Kiss
We’d probably need two firsts to get both if I’m interpreting the FS/NGA rules right

Highly likely

Thirds still have points they have just dipped alot

Would be highly likely needing to get another second rounder hold onto our first and get some third round picks as well

I was sat directly behind him when he kicked that last quarter goal from the sideline in the 93 prelim... on his way to a tidy 6.

What a legend.

Looked a little deeper and the 3 listed NGA boys have all made the U16 Cannons squad (Ronan Yow Yeh, Moustafa Darwish, Tevita Rodan) and Koby selected as well.

Trying to confirm if Isa Merhi is brother of NGA listed Zac Merhi who would be eligible for us one would think in 2027

Confirming Noah Caracella has been selected as an overeager for Geelong Falcons but will call Newtown & Chilwell his home club if not selected for the Geelong VFL side (train on player) either.

Few photos from season launch for the Cannons squad during the week. Isaac Kako, Jayden Nguyen and Patrick Said (drafted to St.KildA) were all on hand to help present the jumpers to the 2025 crop.

And for those following at home, this is close to the best squad available for the Cannons in today's last practice match against the Jets. 6 (7) of our boys in the 25 (El-Achkar, Olalekan, Sweid, Alessio, Leeds - Naim an emergency on the emergencies)

El acktar kicked four today.
Though probably does not have the polish of Nguyen let alone kako.
Sweid looked ok and olalekan has some athleticism.
Koby Bewick was a bit quiet in 16s trial game I hear.

El Achkar has more tricks than Nguyen, has more dance moves than Kako in my humble opinion

Looking forward to seeing Sweid and Leeds, where did Olalekan play?

He didn’t today.
He is not as quick as either.
Also fumbles more.olelekan plays at half back.
Very raw but quite athletic. A long shot.
