Cody Curtin played in defence for Australian U18 side

I want him as a defender even though he’s also a good forward

Hope we can get it done
Depends where he ends up - wouldn't want to spend a 1st round pick on a key defender. They're too easy to find later.

Is there an elite quick small forward in this draft?
Bit early in the season just yet to be calling any small forward prospects elite, at least any that aren't aligned to AFL clubs via NGA academies.

Bombers NGA Hussein El Achcar looks to be an outstanding prospect and the number 1 small forward in this draft but we ain't getting Him.
They also have another NGA Adam Sweid who's a bit bigger but is showing plenty also.

Local GWV Rebel Harley Hicks is also a very exciting X factor type with his speed, agility and surprisingly exceptional leap but I think he's a Bulldogs NGA

Eastern Ranges Lachy Dovaston has looked the goods so far so maybe keep an eye on him.

I think this statement is somewhat misguided.

A good one can be invested in. Just don't get it wrong.

Do we have a NGA small forward or is that for next year

I would on guys like Sam Taylor

And guys like Cody Curtin who might be key forwards just as much as key defenders but something about him tells me he will take so many marks as a defender

This draft is so heavily compromised feels like there’s a list of about 15 players not tied and that’s it

Of course more will emerge just hopefully not from Queensland 🤣

There's a few that haven't played yet I liked the look of last year like Blake Oudshoon-Bennier and Charlie McKinnon etc, not sure what's going on there.

With Taj Murray is he aligned with the Suns through his NT residency or has that deal with the NT getting access finished?

For every one of those there's 10 Jeremy McGoverns, Harris Andrews or Tom Stewarts. Our key backs are all rookies + Worrell as a 2nd rd.

If Cody is still there mid 2nd round where Sam Taylor went, then consider him. But 1st round picks are for match winners, hard to find players, attacking mids, goal kickers.

He’s a potential match winner for sure

Any guy that can play both ends and take contested marks is a 1st round pick

Was just thinking about it before and I’d be surprised if allies don’t go undefeated in champs with an average winning margin of 6 goals +
If I was picking the order for the Nationals in 2025
1. Allies
2. WA
3. Vic Metro
4 Vic Country
5. SA.

For three quarters of this game Mitch Stevens looked like a solid rangy wingman with endurance and nice skills who enjoyed cracking in with a tackle from time to time. In the fourth quarter he was moved onball and immediately produced a few clearances with quick and clean hands and an ability to gather and burst clear of stoppage, which showed a tantalizing glimpse of what could be significant upside.

One to watch for Crows fans over the course of the season.
